Think your're both right. Measured some silvercans time ago and eta % was max with "new" (just broken in) brushes, max power was rising with increasing contact area - but decreased with full contact. My thought was it's the (perhaps) already burned commutator. So gave it a skim and measured again: eta and power raised marginal, but never to the point of a new ( just broken in) one.
My break in method: 30min 4 Volt.
Using my Super IQ to break in a brushed motor. I've had this thing for 20 years or more and it still works like a champ.

Used to have a Super IQ2 myself about 15 yrs ago. Shop I worked at closed and it was going to be left behind so I gave it a home. Can't for the life of me remember where it went to. Looooonnnnggg gone.
Was tinkering with some airplane stuff yesterday, and it got me wondering about this. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. Anyone ever tried it?

Of course, fail vids are always entertaining!
I hadn't taken the Grasshopper out in a while. Nor had I tried to charge the old hump pack I got with the G-Hopper a couple years ago. This 25 year old battery hasn't been charged in over 20 years, theres no way it can hold a charge. I hooked it up...

i think i remember seeing rc4wd has a kit to make the cc-01 chassis a solid front axle rig. i thought that'd be a cool mod.
Saw that too. Not sure exactly how it would work though.
Anyone run a Kyosho K Speed Heli Special Mod motor in a buggy? I have one and it apparently a 14 turn double wind. Any info would be awesome, I got a great deal on it at a LHS and Kyosho discontinued it. Amazon has someone trying to get 217 euro out...

Does anyone know of tracks in or around Massachusetts that run a Vintage class? If not vintage what about stock class 27T? My local track(R/C Excitement) only runs modified.
Thanks,

Anyone want to do a Sunday get together to get ready for the vintage nats? Jamie
I know it's not vintage but I recently scored a free 10R5 and was thinking of purchasing a 235mm conversion for it. The prospect of running a modern retro 235 car that you can still buy parts for is quite appealing, especially since 235 is just...

Just finished getting my 10R5 ready and took it to the track. The track has changed a ton and has no traction for pan cars. Even though I just painted a body for it I still ordered a 235 kit anyway, so we'll see how it goes.
It's been a while since we've been track side so we figured it was due time for a run and with Besty's son Dylan recently receiving his first 'real' r/c car for his birthday it was high time we gave him some time away from back yard bashing and a...
