Is this a Losi JRX2, JRX Pro, or Something Else?

Post by Snaab9-2 »

So I recently got this Losi buggy that I am fixing up and it says JRX2 on the front of it in the plastic molding but it does not have the weird rear suspension arms of a JRX2. It guess it is pretty JRX Pro like but it does not have the big socks up front. I was not sure if this was a modified JRX2, a JRX Pro, or something else? It has a slipper clutch (possibly from the LXT truck I have that was upgraded to a hydra drive? I am really not sure.....

Any idea what this is worth in its current condition? I pay $50 (without the ESC and receiver).

I time stamped this video to where you can see the car in detail.

That is a JRXPro with a lot of upgrades. Front suspension arms, shock tower and short .6 shocks are from the ProSE. A&L Factory Works steering assembly and slipper clutch, Trinity Green machine motor, Holeshot 2000 motor heatsink, RPM gear cover and titanium turnbuckles. That’s a lot of car for $50!

Thanks guys!

Well, I am learning there is a lot of specialty parts to vintage Losi's and I am not sure I am going to keep it (I am more likely to keep the truck). I will probably make a few videos of it (I took off the rear tires and put some Traxxas tires on the rear as I am going to run it on pavement first). I think I will do one other video on a baseball field and then maybe be done with it. Otherwise I will do something stupid and put a really fast brushless motor in it, gear it to the moon, and probably wreck it.

I have gone through a lot of the car and the gearbox internally looked solid best I can tell.

It is a cool car but I think someone else may be able to appreciate it more than I can (plus it is really similar to my Ultima Pro XL).

Sure is! I only plan on running int for 2 or 3 minutes on road and if it is too bogged down I will not run it on the baseball field..... but maybe it will do okay... we shall see.

It ran really good! I went hard for like 5 min straight on a baseball field before it started to get hot. It went 33 mph on pavement which was quicker than I expected too. It handled great.
