Anyone Familiar With Hobby World Valiant II? (TRX-1 Clone)

Post by morrisey0 »

Anyone with firsthand experience with a Hobby World (Jamara / HobbyLand / etc) Valiant II? It seems to have a few names, and sold through multiple distributors starting in 1993. Jamara in Europe, HobbyLand in US?

Seems to be a TRX-1 clone with an aluminum upper deck, and a Hobby World (Chadori) A07 body on it.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Interesting buggy, no personal experience but it looks more like a ultima pro / triumph clone than traxxas. shocks, body style, and rear tower definitely look kyosho inspired to me.

Front end and wheels look Traxxas. Then it gets Kyoshoish. That is a pretty neat buggy. What is the gearbox like? Is it a stealthy three gear style? Do you own this buggy or have any more pics?
Hope you're doin' something fun.

This turned into a typical FBMP fawkup. I "bought" one earlier today, but then the seller sold it from under me. Par for FB douchebags.

Here are some pics of the one I "bought," and a link to pics of another one.

This is my modified one in action earlier this month.

I also have a variant of it: made by hobbyworld for multiplex. The one with an outrage inspired body.

Neither are clones of the trx-1 or kyosho triumph. There’s only very superficial similarities.

I made some new shocktowers as the epoxy ones broke and the alu ones bent. I used an old plate of natural colour epoxy in 3mm thickness. I also modified the design to have something stronger and with more usable tuning options. Hope you like it.
