AYK promoting their new for the year Radiant 4wd buggy and Trinity Dirt Shootout win in 1987. The Radiant was built upon a pair of vertical anodized aluminum side plates sandwiched between upper and lower fiberglass decks. Suspension was handled by double wishbones up front and a lower wishbone/upper link in the rear. All four corners sported traditionally located oil filled aluminum shocks mounted to pair of fiberglass shock towers. The 4wd system was chain driven with dogbones, ball bearing diffs, and an optional two speed transmission. Unassembled, the radiant kit included a polycarbonate buggy body, gold wheels, RACEPOWER stock motor and for the first time a ceramic resistor mechanical speed controller in place of the previous three speed stepped mechanical speed controller:
