ultima 2 build?

i may be getting a ultima 2 from a friend. i know that most of the parts from Tower Hobbies Nitro ST-15 will work but will any of the trans gears work ? i know the diff is a little different but if i buy the whole diff http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWZ34&P=Z will it work?? will any other of the st-15 gears work??

No, sorry, the entire gearbox is different from the ultima

thanks guys... i was hoping it was like the rc10gt and rc10t2,same gears different case..oh well.. if i get it ill let you know what i need

There a couple other cars that use the same ultima gearbox, all of which are made by kyosho as far as I know.
The optima rear gearbox is compatible on the inside, and so is the maxxum ff gearbox.
But anything with an engine has different internals, including the ultima derrivates at kyosho. I think it has to do with the internal gear ratio requirements and the clutch.

ok so the deal was goin to be my friend sell me a ultima2 parts car and i was going to use my outrage parts car to make a nice ultima2. but he realized he needed a bunch of parts from that car to fix his ultima truck. so we just traded some parts to get my outrage goin ..for now i just want to try to get a nib kyosho pinion ..i put the info on what i want in the "wanted" section thanks
