I am looking to fab up a set of a-arms for my hotshot. I need to buy some nylon sheet. Does anyone know what type of nylon I need )6/6 ect)? How about a good (cheap) source for it in the usa?

try mcmaster carr. either nylon (6/6 is common) or delrin (acetal). probably 1/4" thick or 3/8" thick will be sufficient.
very local to Philly area. Warehouse in central NJ, I order stuff and get it within 2 days. may not be the cheapest for small qty's, but easily the quickest and simplest.
In my local area a plastic comany has some bins of scrap nylon delron, and other chunk pieces and sheets in black and white check with a local plastic company for scrap usually get at great price or throw me a line let me know how much u need i see what i can find

i would also recommend mcmaster carr. i live in a small town(small minded) and have to find sources for 2mm, and 3mm stuff. i placed an order by 5:30pm and had it by noon the next day. very quick and has everything in-stock.
I can't find any good references on priming or painting nylon.
Has anyone had any luck or experience?
Tamiya had a special primer for polypropylene, nylon, FRP and other similar materials.
It seems to be discontinued.

The wheels are jcracingproducts wheels.
At least a few others here on the forum have used them. They are very nice 2.2 wheels that are a direct fit for 1/4 tapered axel rears and the fronts work with 3/8 x...
Guys, i won an old unbuilt 2WD RC500 on ebay. The guy that owned it previously dyed all the nylon parts red. I want to dye them black as the red is inconsistient. Any tips on dying nylon parts? I thought i read somewhere before that dying the nylon...

You should have no problem dying them black. I like RIT dye which can be bought at most supermarkets.
I have also heard that boiling the parts relieves the stress of the molding process but I don't have any data to back that up.
here is one for ya's, i have a few different bits of white/cream nylon with similar stains, was going to try rit colour remover but thought i might ask on here.
seams to have soaked in below the surface of the nylon.

A friend from another website, uses peroxide to clean his parts. He soaks them in a big Rubbermaid tub sitting in the sun for a couple of days. And so far it seems to work very well. All of his vintage RCs that I have seen look brand spankin' new....

oxy clean and warm water always works. just make sure you wear some rubber gloves. that stuff could be irritating under the skin, if you have your hands in it for a while.
if you have oil or other greasey crap on the part, clean it off first....

I don't have experience with using this stuff on nylon, but i was the only thing I could get to bond an old plastic TRC Stealth antenna that was broken in two. I tried a few glues and two-part epoxies, but nothing worked except the Plastic Bonder.
