That wasn't any playlist, those were the ones that just came to me quickly
off the top of my head (and I'm all but early-alzheimers-ish).

You were the one suggesting it as an all but "stellar musical era"!!
I was just trying to figure out if I was going to save your statement and use if for my sigline.

I won concourse/best paint using spray cans back in the 80s, and nobody today believes I don't own an airbrush.
Post some pics !

In my opinion for what it's worth you can paint your car anyway you want to...as for box art there are some great examples and some poor but in most cases the OWNER IS HAPPY and that's really all that matters. If YOU PERSONALLY like the look then great it's not up to somebody else to tell you that you have bad taste or whatever...it's what spins your wheels bro plain and simple..

Wasn't that the all-time era of the kings of the one-hit-wonders??

Are you kidding...the hair bands were just the thing to give you a reason to spend all your hard earned money on car stereo equipment...and not have good hearing today  . With all the new music coming on the scenes in the 80's it would've been easy to have all the one hit wonders out there but not really more than any other era has produced for percentages if you wanna get technical and HEY!!!don't dis my Dexies Midnight Runners or Frankie Goes To Hollywood...I still got the 45s and cassettes around here somewhere

Chris, as for the paint just keep us posted with some pix and I'm sure there will be appreciation of your work and effort here at the board no matter which route you go

That seems to happen alot around here but I did mention paint which after reading thru your original post again (so I knew what this thread was about  ) I decided to throw my vote in on painting your car up like the one you had years ago. Its been said above but original ideas are nice to see around here too. Boxart if its what you want or your previous paint job revisited if you want something 'you' did. Either way keep us posted...

I have been thinking about turning it into a box art car, since I will never run it again anyway. I have a extra set of shocks, that I have already stripped the gold off of and have started machining the aluminum shock collars. What do yall think? Should I leave it the way it is or continue with the box art idea?
sometimes i like to make cars that i owned for a long time the same way i had them back in the day (or ill buy cars and set them up the way i had that model car set up back in the day)..sure box art cars are cool and if thats really what you want go for it,but i like the memories i get when i see the same car (or what looks like the same car) i had as a kid...

I have decided to keep it the way I have always had it. I just need to find a few key items. Newer rear tire, Futaba rx, servo and esc (not sure of models though. Came as a package deal with tx in the early 80s)

Finally got a chance to install some electronics. The only things left for this one are to, find an associated stock motor in good shape, 1 battery cup and antenna mount that are not yellowed and get a clear antenna tube , put the connector on the battery leads and paint the body.
