I also like the 12L body paint. Is the color in the rear a brown or maroon? Do you do custom work for clients?? Hint, Hint!!

Thank-you... unfortunately I prefer to paint just my own bodies & perhaps the odd shell for friends, I seem to take forever painting them - I don't understand how these professionals can turn around such complex designs so quickly... & for what I consider at a reasonable cost. I'm also not confident in my abilities enough to paint shells for paying customers - i'd be worried that people would be dissapointed :|

Anywhoo... here's a simple Alfa Romeo shell I sprayed for my Corally Phi recently in an attempt to run something a little more realistic looking compared to the usual generic aerodynamic 'blobs' we normally race with.

Its a shell i've had lying around for about 10 years, its a 'Hot Bodies' moulding - from (I think) before they were associated with HPI - i'd be interested to know the relationship between these companies.

Handling-wise - its actually amazing the difference a shell can make - this shell certainly doesn't generate the grip that my previous shell does (a Protoform Stratus). The car is now rather tail-happy - but its good fun trying to keep up :D

Just built up my new Corally 1/10th touring car, I had already sprayed up this shell Protoform LTCR (supposed to be a Lexus :| ) but have been saving it for this new car.....

Thank-you Goatless :oops:

Actually its amazing what can be done with rattle cans given a little thought. I only use the airbrush for the fine fades - I still use rattle cans for covering the large areas :wink:

Here's a Hotbodies BMW M3 GTR bodyshell I have sprayed for a 24hr R/C car race that I am entering with 5 other club members - which will co-inside with the start & finish times of the famous full size race, LeMans this coming weekend.

The colour scheme is the same as that used by our late club chairman who unfortunately passed away last year.

During the event (which is held at the Ardent indoor raceway) the hall lights will be left off so we will need to fit lights onto the car, this shell comes supplied with little light 'buckets' that allow the LEDs to be fitted easily;

The wheels we have to use are these rather 'bling' HPI 5 spokes 8)

Somehow despite racing my touring car indoors on a weekly basis I can seem to get a shell to last well over a year.... which is pretty good going I think? Anyway... the black/blue/white shell above was starting to look a little sorry for itself & thought it was about time I did another;

This time the shell is a Hotbodies Subaru Type C;

I had previously painted a shell for my TeamC Buggy that kinda matches in design but I really struggled with the nozzle constantly clogging up & the paint spitting, I wasn't 100% happy with the result but it will do. On closer examination of my Badger airbrush I realised that it that the little brass peice in the nozzle was damaged... so I got myslef a new complete nozzle assembly, needle & pick-up tube - which I was able to use for the Subaru & i'm pleased that the airbrush now works as good as new again, also impressed that I was able to still get spares for what is now quite an old airbrush :D

Buggy body;
