I cannot find the retaining rings for the bottom of the shocks anywhere. I have looked at all sorts of hardware supply outfits. I can find close like the ones below which have the right OD but are about twice as thick.

The Schumacher ones are 8.7mm across the outside and a thickness of .36MM. These are almost twice as thick and not sure they would seat right in the shock body?????

Maybe a winner here, these are 5/16" (probably close enough) and the thickness is right at .015" as well.

Thanks to everyone who is helping me piece together a working differential. What glue do you use to glue the diff rings to the outdirves, epoxy? And secondarily what do I use to make the fricition paper discs between, I am assuming sand paper but what grit?

Making some progress. I ended up sanding down Losi shock pistons to make them thin enough to use with stock shock shafts. Working very smooth. Also the silver springs are RC10 parts and a direct fit. Been replacing all the flathead screws with stainless steel hex heads and stainless hex nuts as well.

The stock parts are all in great shape for the most parts so I simply threw them in a black dye bath to bring back that new luster.

Nice progress. Looks really good! Mine is blown apart and waiting for a rear shock tower. I'd love to get moving forward on it.

Thanks, I have the parts now I need to finish. I only have a couage rear shock tower though in fiberglass, cannot find an original yet, but not too worried, since I am not going for total box stock, just close enough and clean.

Pretty much there. I built of the trans today. Differential is rebuilt with ceramic balls and Losi thrust bearing with stainless steel cone washers on the screw. I used Bormac's trick of a foam disc on end to keep dirt out.

The shock tower I had has no provision for wing mounts so I need to get creative. I need two more of this style ball end, anyone???

I started taking apart the storm I got from MOMO5, I was very surprised to see how much different the differential is. But that will be a restore for another day.

Does anyone have a couple extra of these original ball ends?

Will these do? Still move freely and the thread is OK...

The kitton looks great so far! Any "nails & paws" combo ideas yet? Yep these wing mounts were so fragile they are tough to find nowadays, I'm curious about your home made ones 8)
