Hey guys, went to the race yesterday and had a great time. It was a vintage race consiting of a 2wd classic class, which had several Tamiya cars, 4wd classic class (couple Optimas, Avante, etc), 2wd buggy (my class) and 4wd buggy (Kyosho Lazers, Losi XX). Here is how the day unfolded...

Got there and realized I could not charge my batteries since I forgot my adapter at the house, good thing i had charged them before I left. I ended up doing a real quick 5 minute practice run with the Jrx Pro SE and the Optima Mid. Since I did not have a 17.5 for the Mid, it stayed parked for the rest of the day. The 2wd buggy class had 7 cars, 2 RC10s, 2 RC10 B3s, a Kyosho Pro X, my Pro SE and not sure about the other cars.

First round of qualifying, I ended up with the second best time out of a field of 7 cars. I was about a .9 a sec off the TQ pace.

Second round of qualifying something was not right with the car and I was having steering problems. I ended up with in the 4th position of the qualifying round. Inspection of the car revealed one of the steering posts had become loose, making the steering super sloppy.

I ended up in the third position for the mains. During the first main, I had a really good run going, battling with 1st and 2nd for the first five minutes of the race until one of my ball studs pulled out the steering arm ending the race for me, last place.

The second main, I ended up in the second position early in the race and was able to real in the guy in first place. We exchanged the 1st postion over the course of several minutes with some real close racing going on. Eventually, he pulled away toward the end of the rece. I finished 2nd.

The third and final race, once again was really close with the top four guys fighting over the top position. After several mistakes, 1st - 3rd pulled away and I settled into the 4th position. Once the points from all three mains were calculated, I finished overall third and earned a spot on the podium.

I had a really great time and the racing was really close. The track was really tight but had great traction all day long.

This was the first time I have driven the Pro SE and each time I ran the car, I was able get a better feel for the car. The last race I feel I was trying to ush it too hard, causing several mistakes. In the end, I was able to get my lap times down.

Even though there was a laugauge barrier, I was still able to communicate with the guys at the track. I hvae to give thanks to Hyeong (59Burst) for arranging travel to the track. All the guys at the track invited me back and I hope to make it back soon. There were pictures taken and I am working on getting the pics. I also had video taken, but the cameraman wasn't the best at shooting video. I will still probably upload the video, but just know it isn't that good.

Just from reading your play by play, I was intrigued! Do post some pics and video.

Lets see what you ran, and be safe there. Glad you are having fun.

Cool indeed! Very neat that even half way around the world the vintage bug is alive and well. 8)

How difficult is it with the language difference?

I was suprised at all the vintage cars the guys were running.

The language barrier wasn't that bad since some of them were able to speak english. There were one or two guys that spoke very good english.

There was a couple times when I had no idea what they were saying though. There was one guy on the driver stand who would call my name, raise his fist, and shout something but I have no idea what he said. I would just wave and smile back at him :? .

I am downloading some pics right now and will post them for you guys.

Rod - you are too funny

Ok I just got the pics from Hyun Woo and Heyong. I have linked a few for you guys but since there are so many, I also provided a link to my Photobucket page. There are about 350 photos from the race so plenty to go through if you are interested.
