Those of you who race how often do you replace the plastics?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

It's all part of the plan of manufacturing these days. Stuff wears faster than it ever did in the past, forcing people to buy replacement parts more frequently. It's more profitable that way.

I haven't been impressed with ae plastics as of late (t3 and earlier were tough stuff), I bought the t4 ft when it was first released and it was made of glass and is the primary reason I switched to Losi's. it seemed like I would go through a set of front a arms once a race day. Granted I'm not the greatest driver but once I switched to the losi I didn't really break any parts. Maybe one a arm in 3 months of racing every weekend. Granted the t4 was very quick I just couldn't finish a race with it. My dad thought it was me and bought the truck from me and experienced the same problems I did, he raced a t3 ft before that. So back on topic, from my experiences with an ae you don't really need to worry about it because you'll be constantly changing them out. Now I wouldn't mind trying the rpm arms on it now. I hear they are stronger

I raced a FT T4 and I had the same issue with front arms breaking. That's the only part I ever broke. I switched to the Rpm front arms and hated it. The rpm arms delete the aluminum brace which I think is the problem.

With stock FT arms the truck was on rails. With the rpm arms it was junk on a hard clay track; The front tires bounced a lot. It was non stop bouncing. Not very much, but enough to notice and it made the truck unpredictable in the corners. It was fine on loamy tracks, well pretty much Snyder surface that isn't very hard packed.

I remember the start of the composite plastic era, I had just bought a NXT with all it's stiffezell parts. I went through 2 sets of front spindles just putting it into the front footwell of my car... Give me a bit of flex any day!
