gonna go that route also. I don't hate it but I'm not loving it by any means also. I can see 1970 looks in the front of it and I think its got potential. Personally I haven't like the retro look in the 'cheap' form since it came back. Its gotta have some flair like say...

They just don't do it for me in 'stock' plain jane form...and I am a ford guy 8)

Doesn't look bad. The speculation pics from a year ago were horrible . The mustang II 's were the worst 5 years of its life.

Photo's released today look great! It's going to be very interesting to see the performance. Ford used the 2012 Boss 302 as the benchmark, which had rave reviews. Key Improvements: Independent rear suspesion, wider and lower stance, 200lb weight reduction, Bigger Brakes (15"), Ecotech 4 option, Improved 6 speed transmission (auto), Improved valve train on the Coyote 5.0 produces more hp and torque. I hope it's a great success for Ford, and catches on around the world!!!

Ugh, just saw the pictures. Bloody thing looks like a tarted-up Ford Fusion, fer chrissake. Or is it just my imagination? Hmm...

I like the look. It has a few retro touches but looks thoroughly modern.
Yes, it takes a few cues from the Fusion, but that's just Ford's new design language. It certainly doesn't look like a Fusion to me.
Are you guys just offended by its not looking like an old Mustang?

We are getting this in the UK in RHD. No doubt the dealers will double the price on the way as usual, so you can keep them!

its ok... as far as a great looking mustang the last shelby they made imho is a very good looking car, but ive sat in one, and it makes me feel like im a 12 year old in a f150.

im getting kinda tired of what looks to be the car companies all starting from the same design file and just stretching proportions. i realize its always been somewhat like that...

I being a BIG CHEVY CAMARO guy, I think its pretty nice :D But the front does take cues from the fusion which I like. But the question I have asked for a few years now is???? What will the Camaro and mustang look like when they ditch the retro look?? Remember these cars have gone retro, which I think is a great thing since they do pay tribute to the first gens. But how techy will they be in afew years when they MUST redo the body styles, that has been the norm every 9-10 years ya gotta redesign a new version or GEN. I gotta say a pony car with a 4 or 6 makes me kind of feel sick. :(

Lets hope the mustang stays retro. Every time they tried to go modern, since phase two onwards, it ended up being utterly hideous.

Besides, you cannot get a Ford with an LS so I am out

Count me in...

IRS is long overdue for a 21st century pony car like the Mustang. With a global platform, multiple engine choices, and evolutionary styling, the sky will be the limit on world exposure.

There's no doubt that it's design is part of the modern Ford family, but thankfully it's a clean design..that actually looks like a Mustang.

Granted, Ford's dropped the ball on more than a few "re"-styling misfires: (71-73 tug boat edition, 74-78 Pinto body kit, 78-93 worst bland re-do ever, 99-2004* origami body panels (2001 Bullitt excepted), & 09-present..not a fan of the slanty taillamp redo)

But, it's been produced non stop since '64, something GM couldn't do with the Camaro.

I think the Camaro vs. Mustang debate will be hotter than ever.

I'm not slamming anyone's tastes, everyone has an opinion..this is just mine.

Congrats Ford.

I dig it. 8)

So the Mustang SVO makes you feel sick?
The 1965 I6 Mustang makes you feel sick?

I'd trade my '87(?) gt for an SVO anyday 8) . Seeing more pix of it shows a different light of it but it still needs to be dressed up a little...but I've felt that way about them all along 8)

Yeah, I'm with moto-steve on that issue. I like the Turbo Buicks' V6, but that was never intended to be a "pony car". A Challenger (new or old), Barracuda with a 6 also makes me sick. It just ain't right. I was close to buying a Dodge Magnum back when they first came out...unfortunately the Hemi version was a bit more than my finances could afford back then. If I couldn't get the Hemi...well, I just didn't want it, anymore. :?

SVO was supposed to have been the best-handling of the Fox Mustangs. There's a lot to be said for weight balance, i.e., not having an extra 300lbs of cast iron in the nose.

I don't care so much about cylinder count, but a guy who buys a Mustang (or Camaro or similar) with an automatic transmission should have his man-card revoked. Real cars have three pedals on the floor.
