Yeah the brakes worked great until we started going over 100mph, now they don't even feel like they work but they do, lol...brake fade is bad

That thing is ridiculously fast. Almost wonder if you need to install some air brakes to slow her down.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
I thought of mounting a small forward rocket that pushes back and is set off on a timer...basically a reverse thruster

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
I put together a compilation of all the runs so far into one video!
In all seriousness, rough run. Would moving the rockets forward change the center of pressure and reduce the cars tendency to become airborn?

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
Here's a pic of after it landed...
An internal investigation was launched after the crash....and the reason was discovered:
The left/right and up/down stabilizer rods both broke half way thru the run....this is what centers and and angles the engine and keeps it stable...after they broke the engine flopped all over the place, up down left and right causing the catastrophe....this engine had so much power it just couldn't hold up....video doesn't do it justice...when i hit that igniter it sounded like a bomb went off....the thrust curve on that engine is max at intital then tapers off...if u watch the video slowly it was on a real nice pass....until it broke....I will rebuild the car, make some improvements and do it again!!

Re: Old School Rocket Car Build
I thought the culprit was pretty obvious ...................... not enough power!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.
