I ordered a 6560 kit before they were completely unavailable. Arriving via USPS air soon. Now, which gear cover is better?

The RPM will fit the VTS, plus it looks cooler in white! I like mine, it clears my VTS with no issues!

I do prefer the white, but I also like the look of the plastic material used on the TA black one. Almost looks like it's coated in Line-X bedliner or plastidip.

Does the RPM cover need longer screws?

Well, I picked up the RPM case and it did indeed come with mounting screws, but, the Associated #6560 Stealth kit I ordered from Stormer just arrived and it came with a #6566 gear cover and a motor plate as well. WTH?

Was it supposed to? Neither of those items are in the exploded parts view from Associated.

Where's that picture comparing the USA vs. Re-Re (China) Stealth cases? I just searched through dozens of pages in various posts and had no luck with the search either.

I'm hoping that I didn't get a piecemeal kit and ended up with a Chinese case.

Edit -- I think this is what has happened. I can't find the picture comparison, but from the descriptions I've read, I have the Re-Re case.

Should I call them to have it, hopefully, sorted out, or is this case okay?

the case is not the problem, so it doesn't matter which one it is. the problem is the topshaft that came in the worlds kits. it's made wrong. i don't know if that same problem will occur in the trans only kit. build it and find out, you'll know right away.

it may be possible that they packaged the wrong case in your kit. the idler gears are different between the two, so which one of those do you have? gear on shaft or the bearing gear on a separate idler shaft?

Didn't we determine that the case tolerances were too tight even with proper top shaft? I thought we had a gear clearance issue still

Glad you're on this, scr8p and gomachv. Appreciate your attention.

Here's what I got. I'm hesitant to completely open the bags in case I need to send this stuff back.

The bag with most of the stuff (the bearings and gears, etc.) look like it might be unmolested Associated packaging. Stormer may have just added the case and motor plate/gear cover after addressing other customers' issues with Worlds kits they sold them??

Let me know what you think.

Yup you have the newer idler made for that case
It will probably be just fine but I'm not a big fan of this break in crap- the old stealths were cherry right out of the box!

That's not the official stealth kit. No header card right? I think they took it out of a kit. Probably breaking kits cause the profit is better

i had big problems with mine. you could barely turn it. installed new top shaft in the same case and it was fine. ok...... maybe not fine, but it's nothing that half a battery pack wouldn't take care of. not necessarily how i would've liked it, but at least it spins.

it's not just the gear mesh deal either, the top shaft has the problem with the flat spots being milled down too far as well. so it needs to be swapped out for a new one regardless. when ae sent my replacement top shaft they sent a new case along with it. i guess i could've tried it too see if the new one would've been any better, but my car will never be used anyway. so, it's good enough the way it is.

worst case scenario you may have to get a new top shaft. or just send it back and make sure you get one of the old style stealth kits.

and as jeff said, it looks like your was pulled from a worlds kit.
