Doc J33P wrote:COmes with a 3-link mount/setup. That is known for Torque Twist. When you are ascending a hill and torquing out the chassis a front wheel will lift. If the tranny is in the stock position the front left will lift. If the tranny is flipped than the right fron will lift. The geometry is off. By making a 4-link mount front and rear it will provide equal travel for all links instead of just a swing point for the third link. Flipping the tranny also helps this issue.
SO,.... I am going to make custom delrin links with all-thread in them with Traxxas ends like my 2.2. That paired with the small other mods will make for a great mini crawler.
Cool....I was just worried about the stock length, in case I ever found a place to compete in the future. I'm suprized Losi (Horizon) did not address this out of the box....my guess so aftermarket can make items to address this ...
EDIT:
I see the 1:10 Losi crawler has a 4 link......
Well, the "revolutionary" to crawling Scorpion also came with a 3-link setup. Don't get me wrong, many people run them like that. You will learn the first time you are scaling a steep grade and your front lifts. Once that happens you are more than likely screwed as it will actually roll your vehicle.
Ah yes, the new losi 2.2. I am scheming way ahead of time for this one. Sucks that I have to buy another electronics setup. At least I have a Spektrum DX3R so that is covered. Only need another RX $100. Still have to buy another $140 steering servo, and a $40 dig servo. Probably a Sensorless/brushless setup and another Lipo = $200.
$480 - parts
$300 - chassis
Another money pit.
I might wait though. My comp crawler is stellar at the moment. I will not be outdone by this new Losi based on product. I will be outdone as I HAVE to buy one and continue to be a true Losi whore.

How about a 5 link crawler? take 2 JRXT's, cut them in 1/2, and join the 2 back halves
Hmmmm....wife is prob going to throw a fit. So, Traxxas Slash, or Losi Mini Crawler? I'm prob gonna have to pick one or the other, as
she gets suspicious if a vehicle stays assembled too long in my office on a shelf or the workbench.

My latest build. Haven't gotten to run it yet. waiting for the sensor cable for the brushless system.
got it painted up today and took some pics, can't wait to hit the rocks.
It is basically stock except for the dig servo mount, aluminum steering...

Professional comp rigs in the 1:1 use dig all the time?! Go to any WeRock or XRRA (sp?) race and you see it constantly. A lot of the rigs have independent dig per wheel now?!
It is far too common in comps and casual crawling real or r/c.
I don't know how many folks took advantage of the sale on the mini b race rollers but I did.
I'm starting this thread to put some information out there, and for others to add what they learn to it.
If you have thing to add please do.
The Mini B...

Just got a losi slider off CL with lots of aluminum upgrades and a mamba 2S castle esc and brushless setup. Tryiing to get it in running...

my LHS put a charge on it for me to see if it was any good, it was. They used a squid to charge it trough the smaller plug
I'm curious because online the stories are conflicting. But here's the real question - is it going to be faster than an RC10 gold pan running lipo and a Castle 5700 brushless? My guess is that its not going to be faster but with 4wd, it would be...

Well we were just racing on our street so there was no problem with traction. But I'm not really too worried - if he tries to up the ante with his car, I will whip out the B44 with my 7700 kv motor and lay the AE smack down again
Hello! First time poster here. I co own a hobby shop and we've just started selling and fixing r.c. stuff. I had a customer buy a brand new mini t brushless, and after the first run his back left tire stopped turning and the back right tire turned...

I think I've widdled down the issues to one thing: the differential inside has too much play. The gears get kinda loose making 1 tire spin at full speed and the other only partially. I've been recommended to regrease? I don't see that will help but...
