It's been a while since I've seen the article too. I was just going from memory.
It was in one of the '93-'94 RCCA magazines.

You are correct this is a CZ-Z. I always get them confused. I always thought the only difference was the head. Anyone have a copy of that article?

Very cool. Thank you! :D

Also thanks again for hooking me up with the gold shocks! This truck will stay a sport truck now, but not to worry, I haven't forgot about the team truck. I have a NIB Team kit that will eventually be a box Art build. If I can ever find the engine and pipe.

I disassembled this parts truck today. It had some nice parts on it, but mostly just runner quality stuff. The engine is pretty nice. It cleaned up pretty good with just a blast of bake cleaner. There is a few spots of grunge still suck on there so I will have to put a little elbow grease into it to get it really clean. I am going to tear it down and give it a good cleaning in the inside too. The scratches on the head are worse than they appeared in the auction pics, but not terrible. I think after a little love from my blue Sharpie it will look the part. The dust boot on the carb was rock hard and crumbled to pieces as soon as I touched it. I have plenty of old carbs lying around so i am pretty sure I can find a suitable replacement. The diff and Tammy are in pretty good shape other than being very dirty. The outdrives hardly have any wear. The outside bearings were the only original bearings left on the truck, so I am sure it had probably been rebuilt at least once.

Another update, right on schedule.

Got the CZ-Z mounted. Used a new flywheel/clutch setup. I had this nice used pipe and header not doing anything, so I cleaned it up and used it. I installed the copper plated brake cam from the parts truck, and the gold socks I got from Romulus22. 8)

Last but not least, the tower hobbies #6131 "re-re" body. More info on that in this thread. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=32024&p=344947#p344947

Next up, aristo-craft radio gear, air filter, linkages and probably more. :)

I so love the vintage Associate white parts, it sure gave them a pure vibe to them unlike the darker stealthy black plastic, that GT just exudes it in copious amounts. Great truck!

I have a brand new airbrush I got about a year ago, haven't even hooked up yet. Maybe soon.

Btw, not sure if you caught my little typo, but I fixed.

Ill be honest I rarely read post unless its a tech thread. I just like to look at pictures mostly. I went through your post and don't see any typos so I guess I missed it.

What are your plans for the body? Your own design or replica? And I forgot to mention but that engine cleaned up pretty well. I almost bid on that truck just for that engine.
