Clodzilla 2 build

Post by vwjuice »

Here is a build I am doing right now. It started out as a Super Clod and then four days later transformed into the Clodzilla 2. I haven't driven it since the zilla 2 chassis was setup. I am having the body painted by 87fierogt, so I thought now would be a good time to finish it. I tore it apart this week and sanded down the chassis parts with the exception of the 4 links, downtubes, and steering links. I used Rustoleum industrial finish paint and it flows really nice and dries in just 5-10 minutes. It seems to be a fairly thick paint so it should be fairly durable. I will be finishing the chassis portion of this build within the next couple weeks, then I have start on the interior. I posted some pics and would love any feedback on it.

Agree with ya on the body. I have a grave digger body and I'll get a regular pickup body also. I am running the traxxas evx2 esc since it's waterproof. I'll take care of the receiver and then it should be good to go.

grave digger body is cool .. i just thought if your getting the stock clod body painted you can leave it on when its on display and use the same body in lexan for bashing.. no need to ever switch body mounts..good call on the traxxas evx2 esc.. id run that in my txt if i had the extra cash to get 1.. think of runing the new rustler or stampede waterproof receiver box?? heres my big trucks

Oh, I forgot abouth the receiver box. Rpm makes a replacement one that is far better than the original. That's a perfect idea. Thanks for that tip.

I'm running the trx esc/motors just by chance. A guy was selling them brand new on craigslist. He bought an emaxx brand new and a castle creations brushless kit at the same time. So he never used the esc/motors. Picked everything up for $60. Lucky find and they work great on this truck.
