Thanks scr8p. I thought all the 10T kits came with white arms. All the other plastic that came with mine was white. I figured the previous owner had just replaced the original arms (front and rear).
What years did AE produce the kits with the 'worlds' tower and black arms?
The RC10T chassis is complete. I took much longer than I had hoped but now it is complete. I still have to mount the electronics and tweak some stuff, though.
The part I dreaded most was the body and I murdered it! First, I moved while drilling for the front mounts, then I just straight up chewed the body while making the final cuts (and they said the hobby scissors would make it easier!!). Oh well, that just means another body down the road.
I plan on spraying the lid tonight. I had big plans for the paint scheme but now I am less than willing to try and save it. One color will do for now.
Overall, I am happy with the rebuild. I wasn't trying for a restoration, just saving a cool old kit from being ignored or thrown away.
I will post pictures soon and thanks for all the help received from this forum!
The chassis has been finished for some time. I have yet to run it anywhere but in a baseball diamond to see how it runs...I still need to finish the body (again) before I take it to the track.
Thanks again for all the help this forum has provided!
I finished the truck awhile ago but screwed up a new body. I ran it with an old body until Treehugger helped me better trim out a new lid - Thanks again!
I've added the RPM trans, CVDs, and the new body since last posting
What up my name is Adam. I have a AE rc10 problem. My problem is I can't get enough. I get a lot of joy from bringing 1/10 scale gas trucks back to life...by converting them to brushless electric.
Anyone know any secrets? I got a couple of old Tenergy packs that seemed to take a charge fine, but ran like they were dead. They might be shot, but before writing them off I figured I'd ask around. I figured I would try cycling them a couple of...

Thanks for the tips all. I have plenty of batteries, mostly Lipo and Nicad. I only have about 3 working nimh packs. I got a couple of extra nimh packs in an ebay purchase. I obviously know why they were thrown in extra. No biggie if they work...
Hello All, This is the first time that I am going to chronicle a restoration of a project car. This car was a Kijiji find and it looks like it had a bit of a rough life. Here are some pictures from when I found it.

Well I am glad that you enjoyed my thread and video. I do have a few other cars that I am working on right now. I have already shot video for 2 other cars. The Kyosho Sandmaster and the Kyosho Turbo Raider Pro. I hope to have them together very soon.
I have to keep telling myself I WILL run this truck. I usually end up rebuilding them and they end up too nice to run. I have to switch off that part of the brain, chuck this one on the ground and give it hell, a throwback to the fun of where it all...

Hi! My RC10T has been sitting in a closet since I left for college almost.. 20 years ago. My son discovered it recently and I thought it would be fun for us to get it running again. I was pleasantly surprised to find this forum full of similar...

My 2 cents worth would be to go with a more powerful motor and tune down if need be via the speed controller software. Then when you desire more speed it will be there. I use between 3500 and 4200 batteries. They run for quite a long time and charge...
This seems to be a trend around here! Resurrection threads!
Here's mine - just found it in the basement recently and decided to make it run again - I bought it new in about 1995/1996 timeframe. Went out and bought a few 5000mah NiMh's and a new...

Actually found all the parts for the shocks at Tower.
I got this Grasshopper II at a yard sale for $2. Slapped a spektrum receiver and a fresh Nimh pack in it and I was off and running. These old plastic tamiya cars bring back memories of Grasshoppers, Hornets, Sears Lobos, and Tyco turbo Hoppers. :D...
