I sent you a PM. :)

Also an update:
I really need to finish this project. Currently its disassembled in a box. I decided the best thing to do would be to just wait for a NIB one to come up on eBay. The problem is none have come up. Not even any in excellent condition. So it looks like I'll have to continue restoring mine.

I think you owe it to yourself to take apart the other gearboxes you have  .

After much pondering, I have come to the conclusion that the gearboxes in these were designed by sadists.

Perhaps some of the axles are bent? (Ball)Bearings okay?

Have you tried shimming the gearbox halves (not the gears, where the gearbox halves screw together)?

I used all new parts and it still didn't make a difference. I never thought of shimming the gearbox halves. That might work but I'd be afraid it would leave a space between them. What I ultimately decided to do was buy a parts car for its gearbox. Now I just have to find the time (motivation?) to put it in and finish the rest of the restoration.

Yeah I know. :) I have a list of search terms I run through multiple times everyday which includes Kangaroo. One of those was basically NIB. I wish I could have bought it but didn't have the funds at the time. What I've learned in the nearly year and a half since I started this project is that Kangaroos show up for sale on eBay more frequently than I expected. The other three models Aristo-Craft produced you can forget about it.

When was this Dolphin sold?
Same for the Aristo-Craft Hitec 2040R ESC used with this car. Was this before the car?

Thats a good question, I've never gone so far as to find out when Aristo-Craft's four vehicles were released.
