Re: tamiya ta01/ ta02
I have a project that's been sitting for a while. TA02SW chassis that I'll upgrade to CF chassis plates. It's the Taisan Porsche but the body doesn't look nice anymore so I'm thinking of painting up either a Merc Evo or a Loctite Skyline..
Which bodyset are you thinking? The TA01/02 series bodies are beautiful.
Attached is a Blitz Supra, sold it on ebay few months ago as i didn't like the body..

Here's a pic of my TA02RS. It was my second rc car, the first I ever bought new.

If only I can get my camera to work properly, darn Canon. The best chassis hopup for this line would be the Tamiya Carbon Fiber chassis plate. Definately worth every penny as the tub is big and bulky. If this is a runner, I'd say stick with the plastic tub, for a show piece, go for the carbon. The Nissan Skyline R33 Loctite is very nice but the Nismo Clarion is also a contender, it utilizes wide wheels/tires and the paint scheme is almost identical. Will get the camera working somehow.
Re: tamiya ta01/ ta02
The TopForce Evolution uses the same plastic gear box, but the whole car is so ahead of its time. Titanium screws throughout, bigger internal gear w/ aluminum counter gear, carbon graphite double deck and shock towers, the whole car is very light.
Re: tamiya ta01/ ta02
If you are referring to the carbon graphite chassis in the photo I posted, it's an original Top Force Evolution with Tamiya Egress rear tires and wheels and with fronts. I don't think you can acquire it as I have not seen one for sale anywhere for a long. You can find others on another forum: tamiyaclub.com under search, just type in Top Force but that is a Europe base site. If you are there, get use to hearing the word "cheers" alot.

i love my mates on the other side of the pond!
i learned the hard way this weekend that a df01 isn't tough enough for the modern "moto cross style" off road tracks.
it lasted a total of three practice laps before the front end let go, lost a drive cup and soem screws.
i did redeem myself with a b4 that i had never run, it was the slowest car on the track (17.5 in an open class) but i won the a main by a lap.
i need to order some parts to get the df01 back up and ready for vonats.
Re: tamiya ta01/ ta02
TamiyaDan, that is one sweet ride you got there. I am currently restoring my Ta02 Special Chassis. I simply can't decide to put the Ford Mustang Cobra R body or the R32 Skyline body on it.
