Losi JRX2 help identifying front metal bulkhead
Back in 88, I bought my Losi JRX2 off the shelf from my Local Hobby Shop up here in Connecticut. It was prebuilt but never ran. I was told it was an early shipment to display but the shop decided ultimately not to carry the Losi car, just parts. It didn't have the standard JRX2 body either, but that's another story.
Anyway, one thing that really stood out to me on the car was that it had a front metal bulkhead. Many of the other drivers who had a JRX2 that I raced against at different tracks kept asking me where I got it because the front plastic one could crack. I couldn't answer them, and just explained the story. Well I, stupidly, sold my JRX2 and regretted it since. I have a new one coming to me from a great guy and I'd love to find another one of these bulkheads. Hoping this wasn't a custom, one of a kind piece.
Sorry for the fuzziness of 2 of the pics, it's all I have as a record of it.

Someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw one of those bulkheads on ebay within the last week. I went back and looked for it, but coudnt find it. I want to say that its a Hot Trick bulkhead.

I'd love to see one of those Hot Trick parts you're talking about Momo.
Bear, for all I know, it could've been a home made fix to the plastic bulkhead. I really wish I never sold my original now, but oh well.

Re: Losi JRX2 help identifying front metal bulkhead
If you're worried about breaking front bulkheads I have a far easier solution...
Pull out one of the front hingepins and take it to the LHS's K&S Stand and buy the same diameter as the pin. Take it home, measure it out and chuck it in a vice to bend it. The goal is to make two bends to form a staple shape that is inserted into both sides with the head of the staple tucked behind the bumper (you have a bumper, don't you?). You'll have to do it a few times to get nice crisp bends, but once it's perfect pull it out and polish it where the arms ride. You'll never break a bulkhead again.
You'll break arms though...

Re: Losi JRX2 help identifying front metal bulkhead
Guys,
need to check with you. i somehow have one and when i installed, the height of the arms relative from the ground somehow was changed, it was a bit higher previously as compared to the original bulkhead. Is this normal and would this change the steering and hanlding characteristics of the car when run.
i dunno if i installed if correctly but do let me know if its not correct or post some pics for reference.
as compared to the original where the Hingepins (Arms are lowered closer to the ground).
thanks in advance.

Re: Losi JRX2 help identifying front metal bulkhead
I think that metal bulkhead purposely moved the arms up in relation to the chassis as it was always intended for dirt oval racing. The JRX was very popular for dirt oval conversions. I have only seen that bulkhead one other time and it was on a lowered dirt oval car. Maybe it's a coincidence though.
