new to the forum

Post by s7jstep1 »

hi. i am normally a regular user of the rcuniverse forum but i have recently aquired a second old school rc10 and some members over there directed me to this forum. just figured i would take the opportunity to introduce myself.

i have been into rc for quite a while. i have an rc10 t4, brushless sc10, a modified revo, 2 modified rustlers (one i gave to my gf to get her started in rc), a wheely king that i converted to a rock crawler, and the reason i joined this board, a gold pan rc10 and an rc10 graphite that i picked up for a whopping $15. i am looking at getting them both on the track someday and figured there would be a lot of info here.

here is my rc10's. the first one is the one my brother used to race back in the early 90's. it was basically the only thing i got when he died and my plan for it is to restore it to its original condition. the second one is a graphite edition rc10. i originally got it as a parts truck but it was basically complete so i decided i want to make it a runner too. i only paid $15 for it and its got a lot of potential. i also won an ebay auction that got me some original electronics and a few other things as well as another gold chassis.

Really nice - both should clean up really well and your brothers buggy restored and shelved will make your memories of him come alive every time you see it!

lol yeah i plan on getting the graphite one on the track soon. i havent had a lot of time lately though. college mon-thurs and work fri-sun. i also have an ASE test this week. hopefully after the semester ends, ill have a little more time and money to throw at the rc cars. my first obstacle is to convert both trucks to run on modern wheels. i have all of the electronics for both trucks.

for the graphite i want to throw my mamba 5700 in there with a 2s lipo and see how fast it will go. after that though i plan on trading out the cm36 for a milder motor, maybe like the 3300kv reedy thats in my sc10. im not normally a big speed guy but im just curious to see what that buggy will do with that motor.

i won an ebay auction that had some original electronics. i know my brothers gold pan came with the MSC but i think the ESC i got with the auction was an option for some of the rc10's? i dont know much about the older stuff and im sure someone here can correct me if im wrong. ill post some pics up later of the speed control, servos, and reciever that i got.
