rc10 original servo saver variation

Post by knucklebuster »

I saw this servo saver, cut as you see, in one of my rc10 instruction books. I presume the book was for international sales as there are no words, only pictures. When did Associated start/stop using this servo saver? Thanks.

I knew you would want to see pics of the rest of the new A stamp! I painted the body and driver back in the 80s and never used... fortunately I tucked them away in the box with my original rc10. I still need to add the mechanical speed control and servos.

The double servo saver was used in 84-early edingers, after that they went to a single "saver" on the left side, and a crank on the other. The manual had pics from the first car for a long time, and any rc10 can have that setup if two kits are used.

Thanks Reggie. Am I correct about the picture instruction manual being for international sales? The cover is the same as the picture on the banner above.

That's what the first cars had on them and what they printed the manuals off of. No need to reprint all of the manuals after changing the servo saver. It actually looks like that is a Cadillac ave car with 2 of the same servo savers on it.

You are absolutely right on the Cadillac address. I picked it up new in the box. The original chassis is a flawless light yellow with goodyears and cupped rear shock retainers. I gave the new rc10 to my best man, an engineer who was amazed when I showed him my original rc10. He couldn't believe I assembled it as a child and didn't become an engineer.
