My second Yok - A YZ10!
My second Yok - A YZ10!
Have you ever had one of those dreaded experiences when you open a new e-bay aquisition and realize that you're going to have to do a whole lot of work and spend a bunch more money to make the car what you hoped it would be? Well, thankfully this is not one of those times.
I had to struggle a bit with buying this car since it was priced just a bit high I think, compared to what they seemed to be going for in auctions. The description of the car was better than the pictures though and I have wanted either a YZ-10 or 870c for a while, so I hit the bin. I had to wait for quite a while to find out how bad it was because apparently UPS couldn't figure out how to get a truck out of Iowa for about 6 days according to the tracking number. When I e-mailed them out of frustration the package magically showed up in Washington within 4 hours of my e-mail. Go figure. It still took three business days for them to figure out how to move it 40 miles down the freeway. But this isn't about that, it's about opening this package and being delighted by what I found. The car is in very nice condition - not perfect, it has been used some but overall it's a real time capsule. The previous owner, who happens to be the original owner, was obviously a meticulous guy. The car is spotless! By that I mean it's extremely clean, no dirt to be found other than a few smudges here and there and virtually no rust. It even came with the original manual in top condition as well as the original sales receipt! I don't think I'll need to do a whole lot to make this a very nice car. Tires, wheels, a new wing (the body is very nice even if it's pink and blue - and it's kind of growing on me) and a bumper should clean it up nicely. Maybe some front and rear arms at some point. Glad to have it in the stable!
Note: I saw an auction go yesterday for a whole pile of NIP parts and a parts car, I even bid a couple of times but I was complely outgunned by the final bidder - by about double what I was willing to pay. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for parts, hope one of you lucky sob's got it!

That's what I'm thinking, and maybe a new set of rims and bumper and it'll be really pretty.

If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough.

Nice... looks like a good purchase!
The colour scheme on the shell is suitably 80s retro for sure
