new CAT XLS black dish wheels from JC Racing

Post by kaszal »

I contacted John at JC Racing Products to ask if they could make some black dish wheels for the Cat / XLS / Procat (currently they only make the spoke wheels) and he would like to know how much demand there might be.

Just to remind you how cool the black dish wheels look, here's Jason's XLS with similar black dish wheels by Yokomo (thank for the pic Jason :D)

As you know, the more interest we show the more likely it is to happen. I will order at least two sets. Please post how many sets you would like. It's just to guage interest at this stage, not a commitment to order.

This is also posted on Oople so don't duplicate your votes

Thanks

Are there plans to do any other colours Luke? I like the black but if they did a colour variation like they do on their spoked wheels, that would be awesome.

How about "Chrome", like the original XLS wheels?

Hi Luke

Which design would it be ?

Associated B4 dished (JC134)

Yokomo YZ10 dished (JCYD-F/R)

Would there be options on colour, one mould does all three colours and they say the Bosscat wheels are manufactured to order in Black, White or Yellow

or could there be a poll (the white ones did look good on your Procat)

Cheers

I don't know about the style but it would be the old cat fitting i.e. four-spoke castle thingy.

I guess the new/re-machined mould is the main investment and then different colours could be made.

I'll copy these threads to John at JC Racing.

I would definatelly be down for many sets, as long as they are the proper dimensions. 2.2 in is a must, and the width must be compareable to modern rims, as the only reason I would buy them is for racing -which means modern rubber. The original widths are just not wide enough for modern tires, as it messes with the profile of the tire. -Jeff

I would imagine they would be the same as the spoked ones, just without the gaps between the spokes. So yes, they would fit modern 2.2" wheels. That's assuming John uses a similar mould.

Thanks Jason. I didn't ask about chrome. Just trying to get the mould done first. Is it sprayed on afterwards?

John said he's looking into it but it may take a month or two.

I count 30 sets so far between Oople and RC10talk so please keep posting your interest!

Just to remind you it is for 2.2" black dish wheels with the "castle" fitting for vintage Schumacher 4WD buggies CAT XLS, Procat and Bosscat.
