Serpent Virtual RC game port adapter

Post by Jirka »

I found my old Serpent Virtual RC game port adapter:
Serpent Virtual RC-F800x600.jpg
This box allowed, together with RC receiver, to play PC car games with Your RC transmitter. Games required analog steering and throttle. I used to play Grand Prix 2 and Serpent's own RC car simulator demo with this. And yes, it was much more fun to control pixel cars with Your own RC transmitter.

I don't know is this the right forum or topic for this, but some of You Administrators or Global moderators could move this to right place if needed.

I also still have this along with the original box, I think looks like new. I was using this for Need for Speed game and remember that was working much better for me using my KO EX-1 than using keyboard or game adapters.

After talking to a friend of mine the other day, I got interested in these. Well, the newer version. Add to the fact that there are no more local tracks here in Toronto. The only thing I don't like is the expensive monthly membership (software's free IIRC), which I remember was 18 Euros/month? Kinda expensive. Although it was pointed out it's still cheaper than buying tires for actual races. :P I got the impression that the new VRC simulation is really like the real thing. Anybody using VRC here?

I've played VRC for a few years, and when VRC pro was launched a couple of months ago i took out a years subscription. I think you can still play VRC V3 for free though.

The good thing with VRC pro is that it's now got 1/10th electric touring, as well as the 1/10th nitro and 1/8th nitro. They're also working on 1/12th pan cars and 1/10th off road, although off road could be a long way away from being released. Playing VRC definately improved my own onroad driving, i use my own transmitter with a VRC 3NT adapter.

Paul.
