Stampede Question
Stampede Question
I bought this back when they first came out. I think it had a plastic motor plate ? Am I right remembering adapting an LS-II aluminum mount ?

Re: Stampede Question
It looks just like the aluminum motor mount I have on my blue eagle ls, which is the same mount that is also used on the LS-II
The stampede, rustler and bandit never came with aluminum motor mounts, so what I see in the picture is defiantly an LS-II mount.

Re: Stampede Question
That's what I thought. I just today sold a Blue Eagle and it did have the blue anodized mount too. Not up on anything much past the LS-II I had.
Thanks !
Look, I just came across the body that was on the LS-II back when I bought it. Pretty cool they tried to copy the box photo.

Re: Stampede Question
That truck looks familiar. Did you get it off the traxxas forums awhile back?. Loved that body. Wish it was still available. Have a few SRT that need bodys and have tried several aftermarket but these are the only ones I really like. The one I used to run all the time does have the SamHerdman fabbed T4 body mount and body though

Re: Stampede Question
by the way, yes you adapted an LS2 motor plate to it. Bandit/rustler/stampede all had that elcheapo plastic tranny/motor plate assy. Not terrible til they got older and started flexing a little more. Now that the VXL comes in them they shred spur gears locally. Can make a 100mph car for no good reason but they can't update a crappy engineering fumble .

Re: Stampede Question
I remember getting the Stampede and thinking "WTF is this cr@p ! "
I got the LS-II body years ago when I bought the actual truck used at the track. It had only been out a few months back then. Now I just need a truck to put beneath it.
Sold that Blue eagle chassis today with this, what I think is a Nitro Hawk body ? Ignore the stickers, just tossed them on there to help sell the truck. I have a picture here at the house somewhere of the NitroHawk I had with a Ranger pickup body.

Re: Stampede Question
Good to see you stop by Sam. I didn't think it was yours though...I figured you still had yours . I was thinkin that one traxxas guy that came about in that news ad you sent me. Can't remember his name right off hand but I was thinkin he gave a shot at a boxart body before he went away...just the look of the original picture looks so familiar I guess. one of those "feels like I seen it before" type things.
