Just scored this on eBay Germany for less than 50$. I put a low snipe on it and never thougth I would win the auction actually. I have way too many on going projects and absolutely no spare time to wrench these days, but still I'm happy to add it to the wannaberestored bin for my old days LOL. Will post better pics once I get it.
Pics from the auction:
It looks in good shape and I already have a few NIP spare parts for it. We'll see... Stay tuned!

Nice Coog project there. I'm mostly a Kyosho Optima fan, but other than building my own Franken-RWD, the only make & model out there that seems to intrigue me are these Schumachers. Something about those delta-shaped alloy pans looks really nice to me.
Yup, something tells me it's really nice under that mud. It was probably run a few times, then the front end was slightly crashed and the part was never replaced. The surprise will be a first look at the underside of the pan. We'll see, but can't be really dissapointed I guess for such a bonanza.

If there's just one thing both CATS and I know - it's vintage schumachers buggies. I own 3 Cougar2 WORKS buggies and they are by far the cream of the crop when it comes to the alloy pan cars.
One of these is a standard 'original' Cougar. I bought the other one (with the fat wheels) -and it was advertised as a Cougar -it needed plenty of parts and it was very rough, but there are a few variations between it and my original Cougar. I seem...

I wouldn’t really say mongrel 😂 it’s just what we did back in the day as Schumacher produced conversion kits that were way cheaper than buying a whole new kit.
The whole Ali pan series from top cat through were pretty much interchangeable parts wise...
So am I the only one in the US still waiting (since June 10) for the re-re Cougar? I see several US residents on FB have them, even those who didn't get one from the first batch.
On a side note, it is awfully quiet here in the Schumacher section....

Did everyone who ordered back in the summer get their Cougar? I got mine last week.
Just got this cheap off the bay. Not sure if it will be stripped for spares or run it.
Has red shock bodies ( not pictured) No shocks up the front so i quickly bolted up some alloy threaded shocks. Has a slipper too which is the main reason why i...
inspired by so many great threads here and the fact that I want to build something Schumacher to run against all these RC-10 re-releases I'm sure will be coming out to play, I've started to gather parts for my own Cougar build.
so, I have a large...

It sounds like you've got the wrong length insert peice for the spacing of the bearings? With the bearings in position & the insert/shaft pressed fully 'home' the castleated end should be flush with the outerface of the bearing.
...and I accepted her proposal! Huge impulse buy, I'd always wanted one of these and the price seemed fair to me considering all that comes with the car. I don't know anything about Schumachers but I always wanted one. Do you think my wife...
