Old is New JrxPro SE

Post by Seabass »

I scraped my Jrx@ project for a something a bit more modern, a Pro SE. Thanks to Bearrickster for the body as well as the chassis for this build. I have a retro fit tranny that will be installed in this car. The shock bodies and motor plate were hard ano'd hard grey. I still have yet to start the final assembly on the car.

The bidy is a XX xcelorator and I am still in the process of making it fit. The body fits very well considering it was manufactured for a completely different buggy.

I will be installing a set of the nylon arms I machined and intend on dying them black to stick with the theme of my other buggies. I hope to get this car finished up in the next few weeks so i can start racing it.

Enjoy the pics.

Jake

Tell the Dr your eyes are still good. The rear shocks in the pics are not ano'd. I am still in the process of mocking up before I run with the final build.

Yes a retrofit will be in the car

What rims are you using Jake? I have been trying to find spokes but its looking like dish is the only cheap/quick option.

I run J Concepts Rulux (for the B4), if that is the spoke you are looking for:

I believe Jake has B4 wheels on that machine. If you want spokes, you could use B4 rulux wheels...

I'm going to switch my car to RB5 front spindles/hubs/axles, and use HPI Ultra 5 wheels. Will need a hex in the rear but will look sort of original the the x2.

EDIT: WOW Joey beat me to it

ooooh. I like those HPI's. Are they Dyable? Which adapter sprue do I need to run those. I will probably have to drill out the fronts for bearings a la m_vice eh?.

LOL @ jwscab

You guys are correct, the wheels are B4 wheels. I figured it would be best to make these work since i have a B4 and an RC10 running B4 wheels. No need to have multiple wheels lying around.

The body has been painted and i still need to do a bit of work to get this one ready. All the parts are in, just waiting to get built. The retrofit is completely rebuilt and will be running a B4 slipper on the tranny.

I will get some pics uploaded soon.

That's a sweet build - the xcellerator bod fits awesome on that tub!!! I think what's missing (barring the front bulkhead screws as pointed out already  ) is hop-up turnbuckles... the stock Losi ones from bitd aren't on my favourites list, really, but then again to each his own :)

This thing should be able to run with the more modern cars no problem :)

Very nice!
