So what size pinion and spur should i run in my gold pan buggy with stealth tranny and a Reedy Sonic 13.5 brushless?

All I know is the stock pinion calls for a 48p, 21tooth for the stealth cars, I went with that for a starting point.

Miles is running a 72/28 with his 13.5 running no boost- 5 min qualifiers are coming off at 150f

Ok so i shouldnt start with the 81 tooth spur on it?

You can, but you can't get enough gear on the pinion to get any punch

No boost 17.5 I was running 33/69

No boost 13.5 I would drop about 4-5 teeth (so 28-29)...same range that Reggie said.

I know the 6 gear trans has a much different pitch than my stealth trans. Can someone please tell me what the original tooth count and pitch should be for the pinion and spur gears? Also where can I buy snap ring pliers small enough for the tiny...

hello!
maybe you read my other topic on Readers RC10's .
i'm currently working on two RC10 projects.
one with 6 gear and the other with stealth tranny.
both will get a 17Turn Motor which i already have (Reedy and LRP).

the trouble is .. i need spur...

Kimbrough, Robinson and PRS all make really good gears. I don't know of any bad ones out there, really.

Ok, I'm getting my T3 set up to run the Slot Machine that I was running in my XX.

Specs first:
I was running the slot machine on my Losi XX with the 2.19:1 tranny, 88 spur, 21 pinion with 2.2 buggy tires. so that would give me a 9.18 +/- gear...

use this To calculate what you need to run.
Put your transmission ratio, spur, pinion and tire size (actual overall tire diameter, not just the generic 2.2 ) in for your xx car. keep it set at mid and then click rollout.
Print the chart, then...

Hello all. New guy here getting back into the hobby.

I will keep the back story short: The XX-CR I built out of the box when it was released in the late 90s. Still a runner; busted a few parts during a recent run and caught the bug when seeking out...

That would depend on what you are doing with it and track conditions etc. I think most of us use the dual slipper for our runners, I have never run a hydra but they do serve their purpose but I think are abit more maintenance.
I use a 90T kevlar...

Does anyone know the hex size for the tiny screws that hold the bushing in the idler gear on the six gear tranny? None of the sizes I have seem to fit it, and I want to put bearings in it.

The heads of the screws strip very easily...I've had to notch a few with a dremel to remove...not hard with a cutting wheel but a pain none the less...

I have used fine valve grinding paste on the tip of the wrench with good success. Also helpful...

Will this Robinson Racing spur work on a six gear? The diff ball holes are different to the #6634 spur. SUPER_SPUR.png

I borrowed one of those Robinson Racing spur gears. It worked fine. My Kimbrough gear was slipping. I could not figure out why.
