I seem to be making headway over the last couple of days. It's coming along quite well now, couple of more days and I should have the rest of the cross bars attached. Things are just resting in place for now. I the rear shock tower is notched out in the original to allow the cage to come down a little and I'll have to play around to get the crossbars and supports just right. I'm looking forward to finishing the cage and getting it painted. I've already sourced out a pretty good mesh that looks a lot alike to the one in the photo.

Anyway, here are some photographic updates.

I'm calling it a night, I got the cage close to finished :D

I got to do some trimming to the front of the body, bottom of cage posts and to the rear shock tower to get things to sit a bit lower...that's tomorrow. I guess I need some white wing buttons eventually too. There will be still a few things to take care off after the body and cage is painted.

Great work Anthony. There's something about building these cars to look a little more scale that really gets me going.
Nice job mate.

Kooz's pic of Halsey holding his replica got me thinking....how impossible, and also full of awesome, do you think it would be to find the original trophy girl and get her to take a pic holding your replica when it's done. (not necessarily in a bikini)

I'd probably guess at her being in her late 40's early 50's....might still be alright. ;)

No, it would be fine. You would just need to hire Jim Henson to rig up an elaborate pulley system to keep her low hanging fruit from obstructing the view of the car from the camera.
