Deez nuts.

Post by Justin428 »

I really don't like these plastic nuts on my gt.

Before I run out to Home Depot later I was wondering if you guys knew the exact size/pitch so I can get them in metal.

4-40 for everything but the slipper and front axles. Don't use metal on the front axles but if you do they should be 5-40.

I have to ask, why no metal on the front axle?

the axle is aluminum
Its easy to strip the axle with steel nuts, sometimes rip the threaded part right off, and it's unsprung weight

Gotcha. Knew about the weight, but didn't know about the aluminum. I'll be gentle.

If you want to try before you buy, try the slipper nut (gold) on the front axles and make sure my brain isn't pooping the bed

5-40 is unlikely for anywhere but a good hardware store or hobby store

I just have to say that the title of the thread had me laughing in my chair....

reminded me of my high school days (80's)...

okay yes we took it past high school into the work place (90's and onto the new millennium)...

Awe heck, we still use it today (2013)....

Have you tried DEEZ NUTS on your rig? they are timeless, lol
