I like that gold better than the "real" one, actually.

I just knew when I heard about those 5mm bore pinions that they'd work. Sad part is, I put mine in the car that ended up being the shelfer, so now I have to get another one and tear the runner apart to install it. What did you use to shim it? I think I ended up putting a spare bushing on one side and a couple of washers on the other side.

I had a couple 5x8mm plastic bushings that went on the left side and the right side got just a shim

Can you guys remind me what the alternative final pinion gear is please? I'll have to get a couple.

The Baja growler was briefly imported into the US by Polk Hobbies/Aristocraft. Shortly after, they decided to only sell stuff that was made for them specifically (no more rebadging). Sadly, there are NIB kits in a New York landfill :(
