scr8p wrote:that was nowhere near harsh for a post from me. if that's how you want to take it though, i apologize.

as for me "scouring the internet" looking for them, I was searching for someone else. I found a place that had 4 left. He bought the 2 he needed and i figured screw it.... i'll buy what's left.
Well again, sorry for the misunderstanding.

As for you being capable of far more Harsh... I have no doubt you could be...
I have seen some people write some seriously harsh sh*t on the internet.
That's why I did say kinda.
So no worries man.

I still just find RPM's lack of knowledge... of their demand... (didn't know how to say it), an odd thing.
The part may not have been for you, but people were willing to have you help them find it.
You even bought'em cuz you thought you might need them.
Others are now wishing they bought more.
Hence the fact they cost twice the MSRP on ebay.
They know people want, and are willing to pay for, these parts.

Point being people still want, are looking for and willing to pay for, these parts.
Its like jwscab said...
jwscab wrote:there have been many examples of people here on the forum lamenting the lack of products from RPM, and RPM almost always cites lack of sales as the primary reason to not make new/remanufactured parts, and of course also claiming that molds were destroyed or worn out. They would rather make 'dirty danglers' that apparently generate much more profit.

rpm re-released front arms for the rc10, and has been making the rears for quite some time. only recently have they discontinued the 2.65 trans and many other parts.

maybe with the re-release of the rc10 classic, they might consider spinning up some new parts, but who knows.

in short, this is not the first attempt to talk to RPM about these things.
I just think its really all due to a lack in communication.
Sure, RC parts may have taken a decline over the past few years. With the "economy and all".
But recently looking this stuff up on the internet, I've noticed a huge increase of interest in the "Vintage RC".
Hence Associated's re-release of the RC10.
That's part of what made me pull my old RC10T out.

I find it odd that RPM hasn't caught wind of all this, when I did in a matter of weeks.
And like I said in my initial post... I'm outta date with RC.

Again, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm not directing this at anyone but just attempting to add a bit of depth to the discussion....

It's very easy for me (and lotsa' others) to loose sight of the fact that RPM and the majority of the manufacturers and suppliers are businesses - providing parts and modifications for our HOBBY! It's their living, livelihood and quite frankly over the last 7 - 10 years there haven't been enough of us hobbyists out there (due to pretty much worldwide economic downturns) to keep the industry healthy. Therefore, if they can't sell LOTS it's certainly not economically feasible to make a few for some of US who would like a (example) couple of sets of arms...

I think all can agree that there are a couple of things driving some improvement in the overall health of the hobby - there seem to be more new entrants when newcomers are exposed to the positive aspects of our hobby. In addition, I believe the RC10 rere will drive a lot of interest in things past and a bit of the history and heritage of the hobby that we (as members of this forum) unquestionably are supporting and preserving.

Simply stated: there's no money in a company reproducing (or re-releasing) 10 packages of parts to the five of us who want a couple of sets of arms for a 1978 Whizmobile....

We are passionate; the manufacturers who have survived have to base business decisions on cold, hard economics!
Wherever you go; there you are!

You have a valid point.
But again, I'm not upset with RPM.

Like I sad, it seems silly when it seems like there is an obvious demand.

But if I'm part of the "minority" of people that want these parts...
Then I guess there's no point in trying???

Like I said, at this point I'll just stick with what I got.
It's easier than getting people to rally behind a cause.

unless you destroyed your stock 2.25 stealth trans case does anyone feel the need for a rpm2.65 trans? think you can still get the 2.25 top shaft dont think you cant get the rpm top shaft. if you just want that 2.65 ratio thats cool go for it .. im not too impressed with the rpm 2.65 ,just a smaller top shaft gear. i got a 10.5 in my stock 2.25 stealth runner and it works great. why not just use the stock stuff?
