OMG! this is the first I heard of this travesty

I for one think it's a great moment in R/C History. A great meld of old and new. I really like the new body better than the old mounty, simply becuase it has all the holes needed for lights and what not.

I'm going to get the body set and fit it to my current high lift. I hope the body is a direct fit.

Anyone ever see a "stock" 4x4 Toyota truck? Why couldn't they have done that...with proper skinny wheels and not jacked up to the moon. Working man's truck. IIRC the '84 and '85 were the only years with leaf sprung front suspension...

They could have easily made that truck by adapting a mounty body to an XC chassis but what fun would that be. You know everyone is going to go 2.2 wheel on it and work to make a capable scale truck

I had an '85 X-tra cab with a whopping 96hp back in the day. That truck was fun, though it was a hideous sandy beige earthy 80's yuck color.

A lot of the three speed collectors are real happy to see this truck, it means there are now some previously difficult to find body parts available for projects, I notice the price of three speed chassis parts has gone up now that project can be finished.

Ya its actually a decent truck... no Bruiser by any means but seeing as how that can never be reissued I think this was the right thing to do.
