SuperScale Diablo
SuperScale Diablo
Nice to finally find a solid forum to discuss/admire vintage stuff.
WHO else remembers this? When I mention to people that I have a few of these- they generally have no clue what I am talking about. I think I read at one time that these were never supposed to make it to USA. I remember quite vividly seeing this in an advertisement in RCCA as a child, probably around 1990 and only around 2003 did I try to actually pursue this car. I ended up finding a NIB kit and two examples.
I have toyed with the idea of updating this car, creating some newer styled wheels for it with the 2001 Diablo 6.0 in mind and possibly a re-shop of this body in the spirit of the 2001 Diablo.
I don't think either of these cars were driven much, if ever. I say that based on the fact that the tires look brand new.

Lovely looking model! Never heard of these but I can see the appeal.

I remember those....very cool and adjustable chassis. Definitely not a "race" bred car but the styling was great!
C'mon...chassis pics love the sliding rails

More shots.. as you can see, a very good condition example. Even has a vintage motor in it. I forgot there was gear in this thing as well.
Whats neat about this car especially is that the chassis layout is quite similar to a real Lamborghini. Quad shocks in the back, rear motor, the bottom of the chassis even looks similar. Quite cool. I always wanted to have a more realistic racing series. Everything we race is so exaggerated. Now with SCT's looking more scale, maybe its time someone comes out with some scale looking cars to race.
and one against my old JRSX-R

Yah, I see there is a NIB one on ebay right now. dumb luck, I guess. I literally scoured the earth for these back in the day.
Jaguar is the same chassis indeed.
I actually just found out that I have two NIP bodies. One with a full plastic set. Wild.

Very cool. I just sold both jag and lambo a short while ago. The buyer immediately re listed the lambo for twice the $$. Talk about dumb luck. Nice that you have the box too.

Re: SuperScale Diablo
OHHHH I'm gonna need more pics of that black one..
I was going to paint one of my NIP bodies black because I feel it will hide some of the inaccuracies in the sculpt and be shiny as heck... at some point I am going to revamp this car.

Re: SuperScale Diablo
I've always liked these but could never justify the price. I'll have to stick with the Ultima based versions.
Kyosho has always been a static model car manufacturer along with R/C. It seems like the idea was to combine the two with this venture.
