It has some really nice aluminum arms, I think they are custom not really sure though. The top shell is okay but the tray is shot! Do these bodies come up on ebay or there any repro's? Also, are belts still available for these? Mainly the rear one is what I need. Any info that can be provided is greatly appreciated.

Hey Daddeo

The rare belts are still available from Yokomo USA I believe. The bodies are pretty hard to get hold of the only repo really available is Kamtec's Parma C4 body which is similar to the YZ870C body with the fins and the air scoop just it doesnt include the fins and scoop. Its about £24 posted to the UK so Iam not sure how much it would be abroad.

On to the type of car, I know someone did a time line on this forum recently and they put the YZ10 as being a production car in approx 1996 (that I agree with) but also if Im not wrong when the YZ870C came out in 1987/88 the body with the fins was the Japenese car which was shipped to the UK also as this was my second car. But the one in the US had the body as above but the box stated it as being a YZ10. Im sure someone would correct me if IM wrong so I would think this is an original YZ10 although people would call it a YZ870C.

Cheers
Varma

Hello Dadeo,
Nice find mate. I was hoping to build up a nice 870c from some good used and new parts but have opted out as I have enough Schumacher buggies needing my attention. Im selling off the new in packet spares in the 4 sale section here and I have some new belts amongst other things.I have a set of 3 bodies for this car with undertrays advertised on ebay too. Even selling some new original tyres too.Stop over and have a look if you like-

nice find! It's an earlier 870c as it does not have the upper deck.

Hi Daddeo,

The model in the photo is a Yokomo YZ10. This model shared an identical chassis with the YZ-870C but featured some cosmetic differences. The YZ10 was released for mainly the U.S. market whilst the YZ-870C was released in Japan and Europe.

See this thread for a more descriptive analysis-

Very cool, I really like the home brewed arms and front bulkhead!

I can't vouch for the A-arms but the bulkhead is a production piece - not handmade. I have one and it is made from a coral based metal. Heavier that the magnesium stock part but a lot stonger.

I have one of those front bulkheads as well. Was a rear one or motor mount ever made? Not that I need to start searching for more rare parts ...

If the bulkhead is not a home-made piece, it may very well be form Corally. I have one along with a chassis. It is too hard to tell from your pic..... I will post some pics of mine for comparison purposes when I get home.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Bscotti,

I can't say 100% whether a rear bulkhead and/or centre motor mount was made from the same company that made the front bulkhead but I am leaning towards a no. Saying that, the quality of machining on the bulkhead is quite high.

MrLexan,

I believe you are correct in saying that the manufacturer of the bulkhead is Corally as I had the oppurtunity to purchase a red anodised version of the bulkhead (same colour as the Corally YZ10 chassis) a while back.

Wow  , thanks for all the replies so far! I'm at work right now so I'll have to wait until I get home to take a more detailed look at this thread. I'll also try to get some better macro photo's of the parts so ya'll can get a good look at them. The seller included the stock arms as well.
