First time build, long time fan of the RC10

Post by kineqp »

Hi Guys

Awesome forum you got going here, great cars everyone has and the tips are gold. Anyways here's my first attempt on a vintage RC10 build. I picked up a Team Car blue tub recently and am now looking to upgrade/fix it up to be a daily runner. There's currently a broken suspension mount but the part is on order, actually a whole new matching front end.

I love seeing all the different tub iterations for this car. Makes every one unique!

Yeah the blue tub is neat, I've never seen one before. I was used to the black tub, gold tub and graphite editions so when the guy showed me the car I was like nice color and I was sold.

Ok guys heres a question, on the AE site I can find a part that I need for my car. Well so it seems. In my instruction manual it is labeled as, 6207 front suspension arm mount. On the site they have the same mount but with a different part number, it is labeled #6208 front arm mount. Looking at the pic supplied and the part that I currently have on my Team Car they look identical other than the last part #. Million dollar question, is there a difference in the parts other than the last number or can I start ordering away here?

Thanks

they're the same.

6207 - original mounts (white or black)
6208 - new re-released part (white)

They did some weird part number things when they did the rereleases. The old part in white or black was 6207 and the white ReRe part is 6208. Functionally exactly the same part

Edit Damn Scr8p got me again

Well yesterday I think I hit the jackpot. I found an online ad here where a guy was selling his RC10 collection. He had all the parts I needed to complete my car plus spares too. So I picked up front and rear suspension mounts new in pack, front arms new, and a whole used front end which basically is new equipped with black andy's a arms, aluminum bell crank steering. Also managed to score Carbon fiber front and rear shocks towers that look sharp. Then to top it off he threw in a RC10 Graphite car/roller which had everything. I know I must have committed a sin but I stripped the graphite car to complete my build. One project at a time, team car came first so it gets the build. I also picked up a Spektrum S6070 servo for the team car pretty quick response time for a $60 servo although it glitches the heck out of my setup, I'm thinking it needs a glitch buster???

Well this morning I got curious with my chassis, I've been reading about the a stamp, b stamp, c stamp so I got nosey with mine. Since I didnt' know what it actually was other than a team car. Turns out its a B-stamp RC10 :), since we got that cleared up I can no charge up the battery and go for a quick spin.

Cheers everyone

Heres a question, anyone know where to get custom painted bodies??? Mine is painted all white, nothing fancy at all just one color. I tried my hand at painting a few years ago when I raced touring cars, but I would like to get one prepainted/custom if possible.

Thanks
