Ok, so I was suckered into returning to a local track (Chipmunk Hill) to spectate. I saw some old friends and felt like it was time to see what I had remaining in my collection. (I had sold the majority of my collection to fund my full size car) I thought of breaking out my personal racer (currently was in Street Stock form) but saw my old Raborn LTO sitting there. So swapped electronics and mounted a Late Model body. Wrapped the chassis in vinyl in attempts to keep it clean.
First week (22NOV15) at the Hill, I turned maybe 60 laps. Took P1 and P2 in my heats. Was leading until I tangled with a lapper. Marshal flipped me back over and someone rear ended me breaking a hub. I was not discouraged as the car was still set up for a much larger track. I received a lot of help from the local racers as I lacked a working charger and my batteries were junk. Great day of racing.
I returned on 06DEC15 with TC3 shocks built and adjusted the gearing to the track. I turned 68 and 69 laps in my heats winning both. Car was extremely tight and the track was a little odd. It was hard to turn consistent laps. Just felt like you would be doing great for a third of the race, get out of sync and then it would come back to you. After some discussion, it was mentioned by a few others too. I just thought I was out of practice. Anyhow, missed the pole by time as high lap count was tied at 69 laps. I finished the A main in second place but there was a missed lap and I know I passed the leader at least once. But in any regards, I'm extremely pleased with the car. Next focus will be to loosen the car up. I think I may return to 3* rear blocks. I don't know.
This week I'm slapping an EDM body on it and running in the "Small Block" class. Last week's winner turned 71 laps so it's not out of reach! We'll see. Looks like I'm back to racing RC cars again!

The thrown together EDM body. Plan on picking up some lexan and bending up a new body since I picked up the wrong size last time. This deck is too thin and the sides/roof were some left overs from an older one I made.

What shock towers are you using front and rear?
Nice to see old school stuff hanging with the new stuff!
