I used my father's belt sander on an older castor block (guinea pig) and made same mistake. Ended up doing the block with dremel and hand sanding. Problem with belt sander is that if you don't line up perfectly or are too aggressive it will rip right through it.

I have way more Shapeways parts than i realized; good for testing dye and grinding techniques;-)

Certainly there's no single right way to modify a part. Usually when I have a small amount of material to remove from a small part, I'll tape a sheet of sandpaper to a flat surface (i.e. the benchtop) and run the part over the paper. This allows me to control how much material is being removed and which surface is actually touching the paper. When I try this with a belt sander it often ends in disaster and/or a trip to the medicine cabinet.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just fix the print Then nobody would need to file to fit

Ok got the new parts today and got one side done. Hopefully get to the other side after dinner.

Ok finished the front end minus the bumper I need to cut out. This is an amazing car and has been so much fun assembling. Just waiting for final design of the steering bell cranks to be finished then I can tear down and dye the parts.

Trying to decide if I should modify battery cups or leave as is. What do you guy's think?

I agree. This car was a sort of prototype model so it seems inappropriate for it to have ordinary production battery cups. Besides, you did a great job modifying the bulkhead so the cups should be easy.

I agree so now I just need to decide how I want to modify them.

They were all Fred and Justin's parts but the castor blocks were about a 1/16 of an inch wider than the arm opening.

You may have gotten an earlier revision and not the final versions. People started buying more parts so I've taken them down. Everything should fit just fine. Once I get my car done with the new bellcranks and have verified everything is correct, then I'll put them back up. I've had several variations of shapeways as they were tests for Justin and I to print.

Thanks for the compliments! Just waiting for the steering to get done then I can tear down and dye the printed parts and do a few other mods then take care of the body and electronics.
