SRT racer build
So, I finally found an SRT that I liked
Home it came...perfect platform to build up for a modern/vintage racer.

Re: SRT racer build
The plastic shocks and front tower are a no-go, and I am still deciding on CVDs or just upgrading the sliders to the HD versions, but here is it as it sits now.
AE 12mm big bore shocks (stripped and polshed)
Lunsford Titanium turnbuckles
RPM front arms
Rustler front knuckles/carriers, for 12mm hex wheels
AE T5M/T6.1 wheels

Re: SRT racer build
Trying to decide 17.5 or 13.5, already dropped an Airtronics 94257 servo in there , have a T-SKY 120 amp speedo as well (Hobbywing knock off). I'll run the body that came with it while I decide if I want a stock SRT body or attempt to use the new JConcepts 'vintage' Ford body (for the Rustler) on there (leaning toward that one). It will share wheels/tires with my T5M.
It 'donated' the front stock knuckles/carriers to my TRX1, with a custom extended axle, so I can run the Re-Re RC10 Worlds/B4 front bearing wheels without sacrificing any width. Axle installed, stock (metric) axle behind it.

Re: SRT racer build
Liking it Joey!
I ended up with another SRT while you were picking up all the TRX1s all over the world. I thought I did good til I got it in my hands and it turned out to be an average deal. Need to finish up a few of my irons in the fire this winter so I can get to work on that one.
I like the AE shocks on yours. Any issues with mounting them off the front tower?
Todd

Re: SRT racer build
I still have 3 TRX1s, LOL a couple did find new homes on eBay. Yes, AE 12mm big bores, from the Trophy Rat truck, available cheap on eBay, under $30 to my door for all 4 shocks. Anodizing came off easy and polished them up. Wasnt worried about a perfect job, these are for racing They mounted up really easy using the stock plastick tower, and just as easy with the Factory Works towers that are on it now, just use the top mounts from AE on the 3mm screws, just like on their trucks.
All wired up and test run, I cannot wait to hit some dirt with this thing now and tune it up to beat up on modern trucks.

Re: SRT racer build
Couple more...I need to double check the width with a AE wheels on there, but a quick eyeball against one of my other trucks it was fine.

Re: SRT racer build
I'm really impressed with the fit and finish of this and the trx1s. They build very well.

Re: SRT racer build
I did zero shock tuning (keep in mind, these are off of a heavy SC truck) and it ran really well. A bit of a push, but nothing I couldnt deal with by tapping the brakes. Jumps well, laid down some good laps on it as well...
