I have a few builds I'd like to do and I want know if I can do them here or if somewhere else is more appropriate.
I've been collecting new parts to do an NTC3 build and all I'm really missing now is a chassis. I'm thinking a new one wouldn't be easy to find so I can steal that from my used car.
I've also had my eye on a 12L3O chassis for a while and the recent sale at AE meant I bit the bullet and ordered some parts including the chassis from their old stock. I've never had an oval car before because it really didn't take off here so it will be an interesting addition to my 12th collection.
So can you guys give me some direction on what the cutoff date / car would be?
Is this Vintage enough?

Re: Is this Vintage enough?
We're going with any R/C from the '90s or older are placed in their normal locations, and any R/C from after the millennium goes into the '21st Century Modern' location. I looked up the dates of the two models you're interested in building. The NTC3 is from after 2000, so it should really go in '21st Century Modern.' The 12L3O is from before 2000 so it goes in the 'Associated On-Road Forum.'
R/Cs from around 2000-2003 are a bit of a grey area as some models were first produced in the '90s but carried over into the early '00s with slight revisions. In those cases, members can post them in either place at their discretion.

Excellent - thanks Lowgear for the very detailed answer.
It seems I am not ready to start my build for the L3O: I thought I could use an L3 chassis brace as I didn't really care about mounting a body for now, but I found out when checking all the parts that they are actually quite different... so a Nitro TC3 build it is
