The A959-B are the most bonkers cars right out the box , steering is a bastardised bell crank set up with so much slop that if you trim it straight and hit the breaks you go hard left , I printed a mod that sorts it out , again you can get all the bling in the world for them but none of it sorts out the steering lol .

Link to Thingiverse page for the a959 steering mod https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3823562 looks a bit whacky but it works .

I have seen many videos of these models, they seem cool but I really had no interest in buying one - anywhere near $100 I would still have no interest...

But at $36.99?! I bought two of them... Not sure what I will do with them yet.

Got mine in today. I chased the dog around with it some before I started tinkering.

I've already switched the rear tow bushings and adjusted the front camber and tow. I also have some M3 set screws to put in the control arms.

I found a tube of 4x7x2.5 bearings in my fishing reel parts. I'll swap out some of the 1.8mm bearings with them to reduce the wheel wobble.

I also have some shims to try in the diffs when I open them up. Instead of shiming the planetary gears, I'm going to try shiming the thrust gears.

A couple observations.

In the YouTube videos, they recommend swapping both front bearings and one rear bearing at each wheel to reduce wobble.

My car only needed one bearing on the front wheels and nothing on the rear. Might just be that it's new.

The front CVD's were bone dry. I took mine apart and put some Tamiya AW grease in them. The tiny spring lock is a little tricky.

You guys suck! You are always making me spend money.

The blue/green 144001 is out of stock as of this morning, so I ordered the red/white one for $39.99.

Since the Tazer Twin I was going to install is out, I'm curious what the stock brushed ESC can handle. If the original motor is a 17t 550, I'm wondering if it could handle a 17t Reedy Radon 540 or something a tad faster, maybe a 15t.

I think that a 17t 550 is about the equivalent of a 21-22t 540. But comparing a closed endbell motor to an open endbell skewes it as well. On YouTube, someone already tried a 17t 540 and it kept shutting down.
