I’d really like to outfit this properly.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

I more then welcome your opinions considering my extremely limited knowledge on dirt oval machines

Not much to do but put a modified or late model body on it. All of the dirt ovals around here were hard packed clay so we ran foams. I don't know what kind of tires were used on loose tracks.

Since it has the tc3 shocks, which were a popular upgrade, you could probably go with some later 90's electronics.

This is mine. Pretty much on the shelf since 2001 except for 2-3 races in 2007.

Thanks for jumping in on this one. Too funny considering I just found a thread that was around 08’-12’ now that I’m using a new way to me that I was shown how to search the site where I seen that exact pic of your car. From everything I’ve read so far it seems you were involved quite a bit with dirt oval racing back then.

Found this post from Charlie don’t surf as well. Looks like he was heavily into DO and had a bit of knowledge on the matter.
Could this be an earlier R&D Terminator as well then ?
Does my car look to have the 20 deg or 40 deg nose to you ?
There’s also a pretty different design knuckle and spindle with front axles I received with the car that are not currently on it that I believe I’ve seen in a photo on another car. I’ll post some pics of them soon. I’d love to see some chassis shots of yours if possible, thanks 8)

Reggie was more "involved" in dirt oval than I was. He was a sponsored driver, traveled to far away races. I pretty much just stayed within a 1-1.5 hour radius for 10 years (91-01) any really only ran like 2 "big" races.

It's a 40* nose.

I'm not sure if Reggie is 100% correct on R&D being Uni material and Kranzels being 3k. But I would say your car is an "earlier" one because of the single shock mount holes on the arms. That being said, I don't know the timeline that they moved to 2 (which my car has). The earliest cars used modified Kyosho Optima front arms.

What’s cooking here with the front tower ?
Was this common practice with the move over to tc shocks or more of a home brew adaptation ? The tower itself looks to be the original slotted design.

The slipper eliminator is nice looking little piece.

Those knuckles are from Robinson racing.

If I had to guess, he wanted to stand the shocks up a bit. Or, that was his way of getting the shock to reach between the tower and arm. Most would use a Parma heim end in place of the stock rod end.... or one similar like dubro.

That's one oval car I still need to track down. I can honestly say I have never seen any photos of original Terminators set up as late models...they're always EDM's. Seeing that flyer was really cool!

Does it have Houge steering? It looks to have a Barracuda slipper eliminator too, which is fitting for that car.

Definitely not Houge. Looks like Worlds bellcranks.

Jason had posted the flyer to another thread probably 10+ years ago so we have him to thank for that.

I believe juicedcoupe is correct,
I too believe they are worlds bellcranks. I’ll check them more closely to confirm though.

As for a body I’m definitely down with it being an late model…
Any suggestions LTO_Dave ??
Also I’m really on the fence when it comes to wheels and tires.
All the DO car pics I’ve been going over are either smooth foams, cut (grooved) foams or Schumacher mini pin.
I like them all !
