Hi

I´m rebuilding my old Cats, and the schocks are getting a rebuild.

But, memory fails me, I have taken appart two old long shocks, but they were not with the same parts inside.

So, to get them the same, I´ll rebuild them with new bushings and Orings. Do any of you know if the ReRe shocks have the same measurements as the old shocks, so I can use the new bushings?

Yes the rere shock parts will work on the originals, atleast my rere xls parts fit the originals I have here.

I want to rebuild and run my old Schumacher CAT from 1986, as left for the last 30 years on a shelf.
This was one of the first kit imported in France, with short wheel base, I later convert it to an XL/XLS hybrid with long chassis, widened front...

Those are some great action shots, thanks for posting them.
FWIW, I don't believe my CAT's were ever the best jumpers. I'd always fiddle with shock oil and springs and never seem to get it perfect.

I bought myself a rerelase CAT XLS (my first Schumacher car!) and need to disassemble a shock. Can someone tell me how to remove the internal circlip that holds the o-rings and washers without causing damage?

I bought a Top Cat as soon as they were released back in 88 or 89. Some of you might remember those Schumacher ads with the towel over the car so you couldn't see it, but there obviously were no front shocks. It was to be my first real race buggy...

Just curious on the difference of the Cat XL, XLS & Pro Cat.

I can't tell the difference looking at my Cat XL to Pro Cat as i'm sure they aren't 100% standard.

From memory the Cat XLS has chrome wheels, Sway bars & one Way. Not Sure.
