While the car is cool, I mostly gave it a thanks because you were at "666".
I must be blind, I don't see the 666
You were at 666 before I thanked you. You are now at 668.

It is still 666 on the home page, which will be updated later.

A few more pics of the buggy. I think it's finally in a setup that feels done... until I decide to tinker with it again. There is some temptation to go with a trailing arm setup.

I just want to say that this thing is wicked cool! Would be neat to see a trailing arm version too. Gotten any track time with the current setup?
No track time yet, but been thinking about making plans. There's a really cool track in the area but it looks huge in the photos. I feel like I'll be squinting to see my buggy when it's at the far side. The eyes aren't what they used to be.

I know the feeling. I was born with bad eyes and the years haven't made them any better!
What I need is my neighbor to let me expand my fence to include his unused back yard. Then I could have a nice track and my spare parts all close by for when I need them.

I agree this is a seriously trick project buggy, very well done Ed. I look forward to seeing what you do next with it, you'll probably think of something
so i have been looking at an rc10 chassis and noticed that it might be possible to build a mid motor rc10, so here are some sneak pics of the start of this project, input is always appreciated.

Why not run the 6th cell on top of the others close to the motor?
Since like 1979 or so Ive wanted a sand scorcher, I ended up with a frog and well have never gotten the VW thing out of my system (I have owned many full scale bugs and currently have a 66 sunroof Cal looker). I have also owned a lot of other rc...

check out the end of the vid for the buggy in action.
Well, the danger of having a loaded PayPal account results in buying things I don't need.
I haven't had a buggy project in quite awhile, it's all been trucks for the past few years. Until this recent purchase, I only had 1 buggy left in my entire...

Are you going for a strict factory equipment set or are you going to add some aftermarket parts?
I've been going through my parts bins and trying to see what would make a good beach runner. I have an upcoming beach trip, and I want to set up a car around an old set of sand tires I have.
I came across this old Pro-Line crawler cage I bought...

Well, after spending all afternoon on this stupid thing, I'm going to have to admit defeat. It's either hack off a bunch more of the cage, or make a bunch of custom parts, and I'd much rather make the custom parts, but I'm out of time for now....
I know I'm a late bloomer here, but I thought a WOIN build would be fun. I'll post pics as I go. I have most of the parts needed, just need the time to put it all together. I'm using the usual parts that everyone else seems to use... why re-invent...

Wow, this is a beautiful machine! The front nose plate tube mounting is trick!
On Friday a shapeways package came with my Toykid Beach Buggy kit. Overall the pieces are very nice. The body will need some smoothing before painting it. The rest of the parts look like they are ready for primer and paint. Gonna have to...
