Re: Things that irritate you
Is it really "your" TV? Seems anything running software these days is owned by the authors of said software.

Re: Things that irritate you
My question is, why are updates necessary? Seems every electronic device these days requires an internet connection and regular updates or they cease functioning.

Childhood abuse of every kind. The night terrors that come with it and deciding to not sleep as much as I can to avoid them. Self imposed insomnia.

I'm fairly certain this issue with every damn thing needing "updates" is more about sharing whatever personal information they can obtain from our devices with these companies' servers.

No. It’s not mine anymore.
This is trash. I won’t be buying another TV. I will buy a monitor and a computer. I wonder what a extra large monitor costs.

Re: Things that irritate you
It certainly doesn't appear to be about improving performance in any way. Every time my main TV gets an update, it seems to operate slower and slower.... it's now like the TV is doing something inthe background, and 'being a TV' has become a low priority! Taking seconds to respond to a remote control keypress, blank screens when switching functions, slow response on-screen.... definitely reminds me of a computer after a Windows Update has screwed everything!Coelacanth wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 3:06 pmI'm fairly certain this issue with every damn thing needing "updates" is more about sharing whatever personal information they can obtain from our devices with these companies' servers.
Osiris is the key.

That's because your TV is listening to you and taking more and more of your data, and I wouldn’t surprised if the TV is watching you

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

My TV must be bored, if it has to listen to me.

Sometimes I've seen old travel points post as most recent points and then it just shows up at my door. And sometimes it randomly takes the scenic route.

At this point I'd preferred ignorance over knowing my decals are out sight seeing.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 8:18 pm Sometimes I've seen old travel points post as most recent points and then it just shows up at my door. And sometimes it randomly takes the scenic route.
