Mine was one of the cheap ratcheting screwdriver/socket sets and some jewelers screwdrivers (you know the ones). I might have taken my dad's needle nose pliers as well.
I got these pics from ebay, but they are a pretty close match to what I remember.
I still have the ratcheting screwdriver handle and found part of the jewelers set in one of my old kit boxes.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
That's high end stuff right there! My first collection of RC tools was just an oddball collection of kit included Allen keys, stamped steel spanners and Tamiya socket tools, along with the household kitchen drawer Phillips screwdriver and pliers. I've evolved just a bit since those days however!
whe i got out of rc 17 years ago i sold all my cars and tools.
so now i'm using my real car tools and well as you all know they are a real p.i.t.a. to use on rc's.
i'm about to put a new chassis on my b4 and don't want to use what i've been using....

and when i think about all my metric full size car tools, these $60.00 hex's are very reasonable.
Exactly! I spent $385 on the Snap-on truck today and all I got was a 1/2 drive torque wrench and a 36mm Impact socket....  Granted, I'll...
Outside of your usual hex driver set (I have had my Dynamite set for 8 years LOL) what are your favorite tools in the tool box/work area?...Post pics if you want. Just looking to update/upgrade mine so any ideas will help.
Thanks.
For ages I have been using a set of Bolink Torquers as my go to hex drivers. Solid aluminum handles have a nice weight and feel to them but I just wish they were a little bigger. I picked up a set of cheap Chinese hex tools Commonly seen on eBay for...

I forgot about the other hammer ones, those are good. And the dremel one was a new one on me. Its funny how those pieces always end up vanishing.
Hi guys, i just tried to use a Tamiya multi tool wrench on some RC10 wheel nuts. Of course it was a fail due to different sizes! Is there a multi tool out there which fits both front and rear RC10 wheels?
I thought there should be a thread for tools that people get a lot of use out of, in case it gives others some ideas for their own needs.
Right now, some of my more commonly used tools are my Leatherman Crunch (it's my soldering buddy for...

I hate not having the right size drill bit, so my family took pity on me this past Christmas and got me a set of letter and number coded drill bits. It is amazing how much less frustrating it it when you have the perfect drive bit size. These do not...
When I came back to the hobby about a year ago (with my son's 4th birthday and an RC18MT) I went to Sears and bought a hex wrench set. I mean the kind you see that sit in a plastic caddy and the wrenches are L-shaped.
Since discovering this site...

I give advise that has real world applications as well.
If you have never had a hangover at a three day race, your doing it wrong.
I'm considering machining the edges of my gold and black pan chassis to match the JCONCEPTS motor plate. Just like Kinwald and many of you have done. What tools or dremel bits do you guys use to do it with?
