The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

It's a Parma body.

I found an eBay auction with a poorly painted Parma 63 vette body. If the line on the roof of the Bolink, or TBG 63 vette is the only wrong thing, I'm ok with that compared to this - not just the color, the mold looks not as crisp or detailed:

After looking at pictures and reading numerous posts, here’s my best estimate on the wheels:

Rear - 1.5” OD, 1.3” Width, 0.15” Negative Offset, Foam Tires
Front - 1.5” OD, 0.7” Width, 0.19” Negative Offset, Foam Tires with 4 grooves

Does this seem reasonable? Hopefully I calculated the offset correctly. It appears same as factory 3 piece wheels.

So the rears are 1.6" OD one piece wheels (no hub adapter)...and the fronts are also one piece wheels and should have an OD of ~1.7" because they were meant for 1.5" ID tires with the inner bead cut out. The fronts also use RC10 bearings not metric Tamiya ones.

Edit: Also there should be a "5S" after each part number to signify the number of slots.

Excellent idea! I had seen those nylon wheels in my searches previously. When I looked at their description, the seller noted:

The label states these are for Tamiya sized fronts. Size is 1.625 inches in diameter and 0.75 inches wide.

Would it be safe to assume these dimensions would be the same for the aluminum A10SF-5S fronts, as well?


Would then the rears be twice as wide as the fronts, making the rear's 1.5" wide?

They're the 3 slot version (A10-F3S & R3S) but dimensions should be the same.

Got confirmation today that the Bolink BL2254, 63 Corvette Coupe bodies will be here next week.

The Parma 63 Corvette body would be the most correct for TDP vette, as I now know, but when I watched the movie as a kid the thing that caught my eye was the wheels and knock offs. If I can get those exact, and then have a 63 vette body with a bit more detail to scale, that would do it for my shelf.

Got the HPI '67 vette body cut out today for my tribute project, have to paint it first, then stick the rear on with ds tape, rear end is perched until then. Thinking Kyosho Fazer FZ02 kit for the chassis on this one.




The '67 will be Tamiya PS-16 Metallic Blue, hope that matches '67 Marina Blue.


The decals for the stinger on the hood are black or red, and I'll need white. Not sure how to make that work yet.

She makes custom decals. If you ask, she will make them in "reverse", so they go on the inside of the lexan.

Thanks a bunch for this! That sounds like the best option, to have a white decal printed. Will do the outside decal, the real one is that way too.

Front Wheels
1.7" diameter


0.75"width



Rear Wheels
1.7" diameter


1.35" width


Will probably need to discover the offset somehow still.

I sent all of these pics to D-Hawk, and told them I'm looking for these exact wheels, only with the (5) slots, instead of (3). I'll post back with the cost and time it takes when they reply. Thanks again @MarkyDents, and @Phin!

I asked Mid-America - https://slotcarstore.net/pages/1-10-Car-Bodies-U2679.html - if they would remake the Parma '63 Vette #10218 - AKA The Dead Pool body. I'll report back what they say. Here is the Parma #10218 (pics from Worthpoint):









Was going over The Dead Pool scenes, and saw this on the table in Rook's home:


Cheap '63 Vette RC toy, specifically:


Was on eBay the other day and couldn't believe what I was seeing - just got this for $10!






On Rook's table you can barely see the control box laying upside down behind the toy.


They split the controller in half on the table in the movie:


I was elated.

Bolink bodies made it here today.


Test fit the RC10.


This is as good of a fit, or the same as the Parma body it appears.


Comes with window masks, and that's it, no decals.


The line on the roof, and the hood grills are more accurate to a real '63 vette.


Has the same shaped side vents as the Parma.


Nearly same size as HPI '67 Vette.




Got some chrome pens to mark out the window frames, like the movie car.




Tamiya Black spray will be here Monday. Will get this cut out, windows masked, and the window frames chromed before then.

The Bolink looks to be the exact same dimensions as the Parma. I'll paint this up and we'll see.
