I modified an old gold pan to use with one of the Injora transmissions. For a basher, I don't have any complaints.

saw your videos on fb. This is AWESOME! how much of the car is printed vs parts you have or are buying? Are the print files something you created or freely available online? i searched for just a min but didnt find any type of print file but i know nothing of 3d printing.

The video of the scx10 transmission. it looked like it was a success. Im interested to hear how the 2wdtraxxas transmission works now.

i did not create the files but i did modify the chassis it was wrong in the rear and needed material removed to fit the rear arms(even stock)
here is my thingiverse with some revisions of the chassis , and a few supporting parts . https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6532318

this is the one I'm doing now

The next time you disassemble the transmission, could you please measure the dimensions of the "no- diff " gear?

- width
- diameter
- bearing size
- tooth count

Does anyone know what pitch Axial uses?

Perhaps a fitting diff can be found from a different brand.

Otherwise great work.

That purple / orange setup is screaming for a Joker themed body ;)

someone chimed in on the fakebook page and said you can use the tamiya hbx diff but you have replace the bearings (they have standard dogbone style outdrives). this should be th e gear set for the scx10 gearbox
sdfsf.jpg
looking at this one it has screws to remove the outdrives im sure its could retrofit a ball diff setup

Are they referring to the TL-01?
Googling "tamiya hbx diff" yields many posts for an HBX clone of the Tamiya TL-01.

Hmmm.

Well, looking at the manuals, the BBX and Axial diff gears have the same tooth count and both appear to be 48dp. According to the Tamiya experts on TC, the BBX uses a TA06 diff so if it fits the Injora trans, this could offer a gear diff option as well.

https://www.amazon.com/TA06-Steel-Gear-Diff-Unit/dp/B00AZFZJ1U

More research is needed. I have a BBX, Axial and Injora transmissions but I'd rather not tear into them at the moment.

Imagine a TA06 diff dropping into an AE Stealth case -- how crazy would that be! :D

EDIT: The Stealth diff gear is much smaller tooth count so no chance replacing it with a TA06. Anyway, curiosity got the best of me and I've opened the BBX and Injora cases and discovered the diffs are interchangeable after swapping out the bearings; Injora requires 16x8 while BBX uses 15x10 (easily sourced). But there's a problem. With bearings, the BBX diff assembly is maybe a couple mm's wider than the Injora so it won't allow the case halves to close. :?
